Payment Processors What are your options

When I first came to the internet PayPal was one of the first payment processors that I used. According to their website, "Located in San Jose, California, PayPal was founded in 1998 and was acquired by eBay in 2002... PayPal has quickly become a global leader in online payment solutions with more than 164 million accounts worldwide. Available in 190 markets and 17 currencies around the world, PayPal enables global ecommerce by making payments possible across different locations, currencies, and languages".

I still use it. But I keep hearing these stories of payments being seized and accounts frozen for 6 months without redress.

So over a period of time I've been looking at other payment processors. One of the first one's I tried was AlertPay and E-gold. "AlertPay.com, a privately owned and managed company founded in 2004, is an electronic wallet (e-wallet) payment system enabling any business or consumer with email to send and receive internet payments securely, quickly and cost-effectively. With its office headquarters in Montreal, Canada, AlertPay is available to users all around world. It seemed like a good idea". States their website. The story behind E-gold is as follows: "e-gold was developed and deployed as an Internet payment system by Gold & Silver Reserve (G&SR), Inc., a Delaware Corporation in 1996. The e-gold roles of Issuance and Settlement were devolved to e-gold, Ltd. in January 2000."

I still use the services but Alertpay and e-gold are both slower than Paypal.

I also use SafePay Solutions. "SafePay Solutions is a privately owned company located on the top floor of the US Bank Building at 1 East Liberty St - 6th Floor Reno, NV. 89504." Claims their website. I use them for one of the programs that has a residual payment program.

Finally there is a new kid on the block it is the Revolution Money Exchange Launched in 2007, a new payment network - Revolution Money - was created to deliver significant value to both consumers and merchants through two products, RevolutionCard and RevolutionMoneyExchange. The RevolutionCard eliminates costly interchange fees for merchants while simultaneously providing consumers with enhanced PIN-based security, identity protection, and periodic merchant discounts and incentives. MoneyExchange offers an easy and secure way to send and receive money online between accountholders for free.

Let me know what your experiences have been. There is also Google which is in the market. I'm not going to talk about them because most people have heard Google's story. While they are new to the payment processing game, they are quickly beginning to get like Paypal in treatment of accounts. The only advantage of Google over Paypal is that they will payout the last payment processed before they closed an account. Which is really great in a case of lesser of two evils.

I have used revolution money exchange and really like them. I used to be a seller on ebay and paypal charges 2% on all of your funds before you even recieve them. Needless to say I lost money several times and I will never use them again. I would highly recommend money exchange. :) Valuable info and Good Hub!!!
