No one realizes the impact a parent has on their child. They are taught religion in their homes and are told that is the only way they can be moral. But think about this,Catholicism has pedophile priests, a branch of the mormon religion has pyligamy (pigamy)like the islam religion teaches. The bible is riddled with violence, sexism,slavery, hatred,incest, rape,etc.(too much more to list.

I grew up in a sometimes religious home. This means that when my father was alive, we rarely went to church but after he died, my mother went insane and forced us to go to church every Sunday and also become involved with church activities! In my early adult years, I admit I was extremely religious. But throughout my life I always asked my mother if god loves kids, then why do so many die of diseases and child abuse? She never gave me a clear answer to that.

I learned the clear answer to that is that THERE IS NO GOD! i can't understand why we teach our children that god is peace and love when that simply isn't true. Religion causes wars and hatred and violence. So why are people so sucked into it? Religion also promotes domestic violence and hatred against women and people who are different from them.

There are many reasons that I am now an atheist. I am now exploring the sciences more often, I appreciate my life and nature more. People need to understand that life is precious and worrying about going to hell for their "sins" stresses people out ! I am destressed being an atheist.
