Is There Room in Christanity for Other Beliefs
53No.
Is there room in Christianity for other beliefs? The short answer is no since most revealed Abrahamic religions in the west and mid-east by their very nature are intolerable towards other faiths and beliefs that do not hold to the inerrancy and authority of their revealed texts specifically Christian doctrines contained therein.
Several of the Christian doctrines of the mainline protestant faiths are:
1. The inerrancy of scripture: That the bible is free of error historically, geographical, biologically, mathematically and, the authors were inspired by god (2 Timothy 3:16-17) and therefore the bible is the word of God and reveals the accurate will of God. To deny this major tenant would mean the demise of Christianity for if one error was found the holy house of cards would fall.
2. The Trinity Johnny come lately doctrine of God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are three separate individuals (beings) and yet are one in purpose and mind. The teaching of multiple Gods has it's roots in the polytheism of ancient religions going back to Sumaria (4000 b.c.), Assyrians and Babylonian triads. Alexander Hislop 19th. century scholar, protestant minister and author of "The Two Babylons" states in dealing with this issue that ‘In the unity of that one, Only God of the Babylonians there were three persons, and to symbolize that doctrine of the Trinity, they employed... the equilateral triangle, just as it is well known the Romish Church does at this day’ Other trinity God's can be seen in Egyptian Gods such as Ra, Amon, and Ptah who embodied Amun. The Egyptian triads were influtional in the formation of the trinity doctrine during the Nicaean counsels. Where would the Christian doctrine of atonement be without a God man motif being Christ? No Christ no crucifixion, no crucifixion no atonement for sin.
3. The deity of Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ is the son of God and yet coequal with God e.g. he is God the Father.
4. The atonement: Atonement means man needed to be reconciled to a right relationship to God the Father after Adam ate fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil thus becoming a sinful being. This sin nature was passed on to the rest of humanity through genetics.
5. Salvation by grace: The atonement was accomplished by Jesus Christ voluntarily allowing himself to be crucified on the roman cross, spent three days in a tomb and rose the third day. In doing so he took all the sins of humanity on himself and satisfied the death requirements of his Father since all sin leads to death. Jesus Christ being both God (sinless) and man became a proxy in that he died in humanities place. All who want to be saved and avoid the fires of hell either accept the free gift of eternal life offered or reject it. Eternal life cannot be earned by any action but by belief only. Of course grace means un-merited favor in that nothing you can do even belief (which is an action on our part e.g. work) can gain you entrance into heaven.
6. The virgin birth: Mary the mother of Jesus conceived Jesus through union with the Holy Spirit without the male sperm of Joseph. A sort of close encounter of the fourth kind.
7. The second coming of Jesus a.k.a. Eschatology: Differing views including historical pre, and dispensational millennialism, pre, mid, and post tribulation rapture theories
Other faiths would have to abandon their revealed religious texts as religious authority and adopt the number one Cardinal doctrine of the inerrancy of scripture. The other doctrines fall within that particular belief. If one does not believe that the bible is the word of God then how can they believe in what it says about doctrines two-seven? It is a package deal plain and simple.

Christianity is essentially, fundamentally, intolerant of other faiths; as soon as their persecution was over and they came into favor under Constantine, they began persecuting others. Were it not for Constantine's conversion, Christianity would have died out with the other messianic cults.
One possible exception is that Buddhist philosophy, devoid of its religious theism, is practicable. The core philosophical teachings of Buddhism contradict almost nothing found in most other religions.
Many of the described doctrines have widespread acceptance, but not all. While the Calvinists have led most other protestant systems to the belief of grace by faith, regardless of works, the Catholic and Orthodox Churches still teach works as an absolutely integral part of salvation.
This proves a good, concise primer for those interested in examination of Christianity.
