Is Your Child In Good Hands?
60Is Your Child Really OK?
Who Is Really Careing For Your Child?
I really believe that most parents do a great job at raising their children and they all want the very best for them: the college we never had, the higher salaries we don’t have, the better station in life, (the better husband, hehehe...joke, I already have the best). We work hard with two, three even four jobs by mom and dad. After the 'jobs are completed, we still have grass to cut, clothes to wash, oversee the children’s homework, attend PTA etc etc etc as the list goes on and on. And, don’t forget...there is noooo 'how to' book that came with these little bundles of joy.
Sometimes we are lucky enough to have parents that can watch over the kids as we head of to do our 'part' as adults and parents. Some of us are not so lucky and have to rely on babysitters, nanny's or child care professionals. But just today on the Fox website was a video on a 70+ year old man and his 4 grown sons accused of bestiality, child marriage, child abuse, child sex crimes and even possible murder. This is truly a sick sick world we are living in today!
There are sooo many questions to ask when we leave our child with someone.
· Is the person a thief?
· Will the steal things in our home?
· What will they ramble through while they are gone, and, you know they do!
· Will they drink?
· Do drugs?
· Will they mentally, physically or sexually abuse our child?
· Will they bring over friends that will do any of the above?
The list of possible scenarios is mind-blowing...
So the questions are:
· When you are gone, Is you child in good hands?
· How do we know this person caring for your precious baby?
· What exactly is lurking in their past?
· When we hired this person, were there references for us to call, and did we call them?
· It’s amazing to find out how many people do not bother to check their care provider’s references.
· And why do we not take more care looking into those who help us care for them?
If you are in a position of responsibility at you work, you know the key to hiring is not the interview, or the resume. Somewhere I heard that 96% of people lie on their application or resume. Did your babysitter lie to you?
Did you know that if you hire someone and they damage someone in the act of performing their work that your business can be sued? If they contact a customer, later you fire that person and then months after they are gone from your employment, they come back to the customer and harm them, that customer can still come after your business. Did you know that? So you can see why businesses do background checks.
So, which is more important? The job or you child? Your child you say??? Well why don’t you do a background check on the people that will have full control over your home and your child for unrestrained hours? It just doesn’t make since not to check these people out. You can easily find peace of mind through online background checks
There are many companies that can help you online. Online searches can reveal whether your babysitter has a criminal record, including registered sex offenders who have had inappropriate contact with children or restraining orders against your day care provider, or any criminal investigations involving them. Does your structured childcare center have any negative claims made against them?
You can take the time to access each one of these databases yourself, or you can utilize an online business specializing in background checks, such as Net Detective. Using a business designed for the sole purpose of background searches may cost a small fee, but the time and money you save not having to run all over town finding the records yourself will be well worth it.
By examining your childcare providers records, you can relax a little easier…BUT NEVER GIVE UP YOUR GUARD…NEVER! At lease you’ll be able to bring the odds a little more in your favor, and in this crazy world we now live in, sometimes that is the best we can hope for!
