Cash Back Card
Choosing a credit card can be really difficult with all of the different options that are available. One type of credit card that many people consider is a cash back card. These cards give you a percentage of your spendings back in the form of a cash bonus. The exact terms and conditions vary, but usually this involves one percent to five percent cash back. Some cards allow you to get more cash back if you shop at certain merchants or through certain websites. But is this type of card the best for you?
One thing you should definitely do is check out the cash back credit card reviews to see which are the best cash back cards. Different cards have different conditions. Sometimes your points for cash expire after a certain time, or you can only earn cash back if you spend a certain amount of money. There might even be a maximum amount of cash back that you can earn. Some of the better cards give you 0% interest on balances and balance transfers for an introductory period.
However, if you do not have very good credit, you might not be able to get a cash back card. Most of these cards require you to have excellent credit in order to qualify for them. If you apply for a card and you do not qualify for it, a lot of companies will automatically issue you a different card that they offer that you do qualify for, which you may or may not want. Take this into consideration before you apply for a card. Also know that whenever you apply for more credit it dings your credit rating, so make sure you don't do this unnecessarily often.
For those with good credit, cash back cards are best for those who pay off their balances in full each month. The interest rates are not particularly low on these cards, so if you carry a balance you may end up paying more in extra interest than you are earning as cash back. If you carry a balance it is always best to look for the lowest possible interest rate, regardless of what rewards you might be offered on other cards. One percent cash back is not worth and extra five or six percent interest on the card, so watch out of this.
