Is it possible to install a shoulder seat belt for the middle seat of a Jeep Grand Cherokee? How do you do it?

Why would you want to do this?

I don't know of a logical reason for doing this but I found a product that will do this for you. You can see it here and they have installation instructions. I am not an affiliate :P

As someone who has a lot of experience in the automotive industry I would not alter the factory specs on a vehicles safety equipment. If you are still under factory warranty you may void you entire warranty by doing this. Although unlikely. However, it would possibly create a legal quagmire if you made safety equipment changes to a vehicle and someone was injured using that safety equipment. Whether or not you were at fault.

My recommendation if you feel that you need the shoulder harness in the middle row is to possibly purchase another vehicle like a Dodge Caravan, which would give you six three point restraint.

We are about to have our third baby and need to move our four, soon to be five, year old to the middle seat. Thanks. I'll research this product a bit more.

I understand your predicament. I am a father of five!! If your five year old is not a big child one of the boster seats may be a good option. I personally dont like three point restraints on a child unless they are in a car seat, because they could cause more harm than good in an accident. Although the product I pointed you to is actually a four point restraint.

Congratulations on your new addition.
