When you find that you're having trouble getting to sleep at night because your mattress is simply too uncomfortable, the answer may not necessarily be to go out and buy a new mattress. Instead, the answer may very well be the comfort of an Isotonic mattress topper.

There are different types of Isotonic mattress toppers available, with a standard 1 1/2" Three Zone Foam mattress topper, made from polyurethene foam. This mattress topper is designed to enhance air circulation, even weight distribution and total body support. It gives you support while sleeping, relieving pressure points.

But there is another type of Isotonic mattress topper that are the ultimate in comfort. The Isotonic Iso-Cool mattress topper is a soft, form-fitting mattress overlay that is also often referred to as a memory foam mattress. The Isotonic mattress is much cheaper than other mattress pads and it provides an unbelievable level of comfort and support.

The Isotonic Mattress Topper Is Made From Visco

The 2" Isotonic mattress topper is made from visco elastic memory foam and has a density of 4lbs which means that a 1 cubic foot of the foam would weigh 4lbs. If you have a firm base then the 2" Isotonic mattress topper may possibly not provide enough cushion, but if the mattress is softer the 2" Isotonic mattress topper will be just fine.

The more observant reader will have noticed the word "visco" when talking about what it's made from and wondered what the heck visco is. Visco is an unusual type of foam technology that was developed by NASA. It is a temperature and weight sensitive foam that causes it to compress to the touch, molding itself to the body. It has been adapted for use by E.R. Carpenter in the production of the memory foam mattress topper.

Isotonic Mattress Toppers Also Known As...

Isotonic mattress toppers are not always referred to by the same name, but no matter what name you call it, whether it's mattress pad, viscoelastic mattress topper, Isotonic mattress pad, temperpedic mattress pad or memory mattress pads, they all use visco foam.

And no matter what the name, it is a mattress covering that makes it even more comfortable than you could ever have imagined. As the foam heats up, say, from the warmth of your body, it compresses giving your body perfect support in all the right places. It is said to promote increased circulation for a deeper, more rejuvenating sleep.

Isotonic Mattress Toppers In Depth

As the name suggests a mattress topper is designed to lie on top of your mattress to give added support and comfort.

Isotonic mattress pads have tremendous pressure relieving properties that help to alleviate aches and pains in the body that may have been caused by unnatural sleeping positions.

These mattress toppers are available in all standard bed sizes. It comes covered with a 100% natural cotton mattress cover with an elasticized skirt that will fit mattresses up to 15" thick and the top range versions that will fit mattresses up to 20" thick.

The price of an Isotonic mattress topper varies depending on the size bed you are buying it for with the cheaper mattress toppers selling from around $100 for a twin size up to around $270 for a king size Isotomic mattress topper. It's this extremely economical price that will suit those on a budget who would have to pay hundreds ofdollars more to buy a new mattress if they wanted to replace an old or uncomfortable one.

Isotonic Pillows Too

For the complete luxurious comfort experience you can also buy an Isotonic pillow, marketed under the name Isotonic Iso-Cool Conour Pillow. Like the mattress topper, the Contour Pillow is made of visco-elastic memory foam that has a 5lb density.

It is designed to contour and shape itself to give the neck and shoulders as much comfort as possible. It equalizes the pressure of the head and reduces tension for an even better night's sleep.

They get very hot... I know I tried one. They also can smell really strong. Make sure if you buy you know about return policy before. Not here to bash hub, it's well written. This is just my experience with memory foam topper.

Ok, bought one, and immediatly noticed the smell when opened up. There's a little note in there that says to air it out for 8 hours or more before use to lessen the "newness smell".

I've worked with Poly foam like this for years - it does not have this smell nativly. After 2 days the smell is just as bad. While the review is good - I think something has changed in the product and this little disclaimer note how has to ride along. It's fine print, and most people won't bother to notice. The wording of it is suspect too "newness smell?" Please note - it says Hypo Allergenic: NOT TRUE. That stink will harm your immune system. Ask anyone even remotely chemically sensitive and they will flee the room. Please don't use this on your kids....
