My question and observances
When one reads the Bible all you can see throughout the whole book is everything about Israel and Jerusalem. It is filled with theaching of the Jewish sect, barring that some of it is not included because of another sect of people tampering with other jewish teachings and traditions.
I was having a conversation with a Jewish man and he said that I had a very good question. So I am positing it here.
Was the purpose of Jesus only to teach the Jews?
Now there will be those who say nay and will vehemently tell me that I don't know the Bible and Jesus and all kinds of names will be spewed forth. I am asking a ligit question.
I have looked for the coorelations of the Twelve Tribes of Israel and the corresponding continents or languages and everything that I come across is that of Israel.
This gets me to ask another question...
Was or is Israel conceited in the fact that they think they are beter than any other nation?
I do know why they were so against Babylon--one only has to look at the Empires at play during that time period to see why anyone would be so against Babylon and call that nation a whore and all kinds of names. They were the biggest port in their world--a bit of jealousy there.
Persia was the great Empire in that day and Rome only had but a small part and they really wanted world domination. Well I am getting into politics here and tha't is not where I want to take this hub.
So in light of the Bible and Rome and the nations and languages and continents everything in the Bible points to Jews and specifically the Jews of Israel.

Lady Guinevere, Thanks for asking these questions and posting the links...I'll check them out when I have more time.
I believe Jesus came to teach us all, but He went to the Jews first because they were God's chosen people to represent the gospel. When we are born again we become children of Abraham which then would make us spiritual jews.

The only person that called Jews first where the Jews. We all are the Chosen Ones if you can beleive what Genesis has to say. It had nothing to do with Jews in the beginning. Question is--who was the pesson who said the Jews were the chosen ones?
Then Lionswhelp--what happened to the the other 9 tribes that you do not mention? You didn't answer the quesiton of the continents being any of the tribes. Back then they didn't know about America and any of the other lands. They only knew of the land they were on.
I don't believe for a second that this is the end times--only because this has been stated since way before the 1960's. That is a FEAR thing. Those who believe this and the changes that we endure and go through and will never stop going through are told to FEAR it and that change is evil. The fite we will all go through is the fire inside of us for thristing for the knowledge that has been kept from us and seeking it out and going up against the religious zealots and mainstreem. --it isn't physical. Revelations already happened and it was the War of the Angels when Satan was thrown out.
The Jews are considered the chosen ones because GOD chose them and named them the chosen ones. This isnt something the people of Israel made up and therefore where do you get the impression that they think that they are better than any other nation? and Jesus talked to the Jews because he was a Jew and he lived amongst them, so it only makes sense that he would turn to them instead of traveling far to talk to other nations.
Like I said, In the Beginning there was only Adam and Eve and they didn't belong to any jewish or any other people. When did they become Jews? When God created people he created them in their images and he isn't a Jew---or is he and we don't know it???
The word Jew is a nick name for people of the Tribe of Judah and any others that are attached to therm. For instance the Tribes of Benjamin and Levi went with Judah when they seperated from ther Other 10 Tribes, 1 Kings 12:16,21. They would also be known aqs Jews. The first place the word Jew is entioned is in 2 Kings16:5- when King Pekah of the House of israel warred against the Jews at Jerusalem.
There were 13 Tribes not 9. Benjamin and the Levitical prieststhood stayed with Judah. King Jeraboam replaced the Levitical priesthood with his own priest. Its like I said if you want to learn more than read what happened to the House of Isreal andJudah in 1Kings 12. And go read the whole Bible to get a better picture . What about the Nazarenes? You don't mention them and neither noes the Bible nonly that Jesus was one of them.

This is a pretty recent piece of theology, a piece that has been perpetuated by Tim Lahaye in the Left Behind series and also by a huge faction of American Fundamentalism. It is not, however, the overall view of the historic Church, and as such should be regarded as questionable in content alone from that, not to mention that dispensational theology has taken many liberties in regard to Daniel, Ezekiel, and Revelation.

Jews don't think Jesus was the Messiah---so what does that sy to all the chruches who say that he was? The Bible was written for and about the Jews, yet some of it doesn't even include the things that were written about Jesus from his own family and religious sect.
I also read somewhere thatit is not a man that is the second coming but a woman...........something to think about.
Why do you think that women were so badly treated in the Bible and men were so highly extolled?
Women have been poorly treated down through the ages and it is only now that they are turning the scales around and being the leaders that are often required.

Exactly! and don't read it with a clergy member telling you what they want you to see. Read it in your own way--like a book first. It is then that you will get a better meaning of what it is all about and you may also find there are things that don't seem complete and that is when you start your quest.

Two chapters in the old Testament and one in the New.

What version do you read? Not knowing if you use the Catholic Bible or not there are 4 other books included in that Bible and not in the other Bibles.

Religion is ALWAYS such a contentious subject. That's one of the things that so often makes it so harmful.
No one knows what Abraham was "told" and since he’s not around to testify it’s moot. Words in books written by men, as the foundation for a belief system are part of a controlling mechanism and are more likely to be propaganda than fact. Just look at the history books we were told to believe in public schools.
The bible has been added to, subtracted from, censored and modified so often by so many different people, to suit their agendas, that it must be taken with very many, very large grains of salt. There is a lot of good that can be gleaned from the bible and many other religious texts. There’s also a lot more dogma, rhetoric and completely irrelevant nonsense.
Someone should do a final edit and take out all the useless, conflict causing, self-righteous gibberish and leave the messages of hope, peace, love and unity that could help bring the human family together as it should be.
lol, that may leae a book of about 1/4 oif the bible we have today. The thign that is funny is that not all bible's have all the books that others have in therm. How do they compensate for that? The Catholic Bible has 4 more books in it then the King James and yet those who use the King James claims that their book is complete! They will also put up a front that they don't or aren't Catholic so that book has no relevence to their own religion. That's is funy becaue they are failing to find out how it i all connected and their book they use was translated by Monks--who were Catholics. That Bible, no matter what version is a Catholic Bible in essense.
There's an interesting documentary I've seen on one or the other of the docu-channels. I believe the title was "Banned From the Bible". Catch it if you get a chance. It's quite telling.

I believe in what I was taught when I was very young. I have not come across anything that woould make me change my mind. There is a creator of the world and every Bible I have read, reads, "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." The Bibles I read states further that God created Day and Night, that he created all things including man and female in his image. One thing I have learned is that the mind is the controlling factor in everything we do. We can believe or disbelieve. We can love or we can hate, we can believe in treating our neighbors as we would want to be treated or just the opposite. Actually it would pay to stick with people of the same mind as yourself or you are asking for many unnecessary problems in this world that God has revealed throughout his Bibles.
Unnecessary problems????? What do you mean? Seeking the truth and asking questions is asking for unnecessary problems?? Have you read the Bible by yourself yet? Tere are some things that the church does not teach you that are in that Bible. My kind? Just what is that? I am not debating you, only seeking understanding of what you are saying.

That Abraham, Isaac and Israel's (Jacob's) children would become as numereous as the sand on the seashore. Some will try to tell you that all Israel and Jews now live in Palestine. This is not very likely because they are not very numereous as they would have to be.
The Day is coming when both the House of Israel and House of Judah will be united, Ezkiel 37. The nations will also be united to God through israel, Zechariah 14:6-15,16-21.
