These are trying times but....

Something none of us, the people, nor the politicians, many of whom are parents too...should be forgetting is that the only important legacy we'll be leaving to the children of the world when we go home is the Earth and all that lives upon it....

Where are we currently headed in building a better world for our children, our grandchildren and beyond, down through the ages?

How can we expect the young to keep the faith that their dreams can come true if those young ones are going to be totally distracted from personal achievements by huge problems...

...like inflation, the sinking value of money, staggering debt that is promoted to those who will fall for the lure of instant gratification, pollution, environmental disaster, health care challenges, war and other events that simply drain people of enough energy, initiative and time to even focus on anything other than just work, sleep, and pay more bills?

I hear disillusioned adults, who had dreams when they were younger, and lost track of them along the way, daily, despairing that our youth are disrespectful, lazy, worthless and more...and I beg to differ...

I see young people all over the world expressing their dreams and with belief that the future holds promise for all. And I've never seen anyone more excited, eager to learn and absolutely full of energy while doing what they love most to do....

Time to unschool, I believe, seriously. Homeschooled kids seem to be much more likely to achieve personal actualization. Our young folks are being drowned in an overload of problems they didn't create, societal concerns...education that consists of information overload in the name of giving them a 'well rounded' education and more.

Our children can teach us all so much about hope, eagerness to learn, how to enjoy what we have and giving thanks each day. And they can excel if taught just the basics and then given the freedom to explore their own interests and talents.

I've included here links and videos that have been an inspiration to me to do better. To each and every day, do at least one thing that WILL make tomorrow better for all of us!

Would love to hear from all who read here..links I can add, views, stories and visions for the future of these precious gifts we've been entrusted to nuture, grow and prepare for their futures!

  • Is It Really Just All 'In Your Genes'?

A friend introduced me to the works of Bruce Lipton by sending me his book and I was blown away by this man's passion and dedication to seeking truths that other Doctors had simply missed while being so focused only on what they were taught in medical school. I was so impressed I then searched on Google and found some great videos of his seminars. Funny thing is, this Doctor had been teaching

  • How To Survive In A Home Business With Kids In The Room

You've got to love all the pretty ads you see online and in home-business magazines. Usually the picture shows a beautiful lady with perfect makeup sitting at her computer in a massive home office with her two-year-old playing happily on the floor. Or perhaps it's a picture of a man who's lounged by the pool laughing and talking on his cordless phone while his children are floating around in the

  • Soap Really Does Grow On Trees

Environmentally sound alternative to detergents Will wonders never cease? When our family began exploring alternatives to products that we know contain ingredients that are not in the best interests of both people and the environment, we were delighted to discover Maggie Dawson at Pure Land Products and her natural soap that grows on trees. She was inspired by the quality of life offered by

  • 12 Days Of Christmas

I was first introduced to this group just today when a friend shared this delightful video below. So wanted, of course, to share it with all of you! The original members of 'Straight No Chaser', Indiana University's male A Cappella group, performed their comedic version of "The Twelve Days of Christmas" at the Musical Arts Center, Bloomington, Indiana. Yes, she's very talented isn't she? I think what these kids are doing is amazing!

We should let all children focus on their talents and skills more than learning things they don't really even need to know!

Thank you for your musings. I agree, we must consider what we do on behalf of our most vulnerable.

I say something similar on my hub at http://hubpages.com/hub/Our-Common-FutureFromOneGr

Happy new year

This post was "right-on" about the children. Seeing that they have the future that they are entitled to should be at the top of our priorities. Also, thank you for introducing so many talented young people.
