Christmas

There is nothing I love more than a good festive occasion with the whole family, in a rettily decorated house that smells of roasted turkey and all other mouth watering treats. Christmas is my favourite time of year. It is the time when little things are forgotten and everyone once again comes together and realises what is important. And NO it is not the presents. Its family, and friends and being with the people you love.

Alot of people accuse young people of being spoilt brats who just think about themelves and what they will be getting this year. So take it from a person who isn't actually that old, and has recently been surrounded by 'today's youth' a large majority of them aren't the yobs people make them out to be. Around 99% of the young people I have been growing up with and constantly surrounded by were totally selfless. We sent more time worrying over what t buy other people and if they would like it and how to make it so much more personal and meaningful thanwhat we would be getting in return. We lived totally by the 'You Don't Give To Recieve' Rule. Maybe thats just the small town in me.

Each year we spend months making arrangements to get our families together and meeting up that one last time before christmas. We hold all these fundraising events and shows and things just to raise moneys for different charities so that everybody can have a good christmas.

Itdoesn't feel like christmas until the coca cola advert has come on tv with santa and his huge truck. Its basically tradition. I love spending hours driving round looking at all the creative things people have done to their houses with lights. It just brings home that cheerful mood. And nothing can beat a white christmas, everything just looks absolutly perfect.

I was watching t.v earlier and was listening to how everybody is blaming the youth of today for all the bad things going on. How people believe that almost all children will grow up rotten, and how all teenagers are trouble makers. Being a teenager, not a younger one granted, but still classed as a teenager that really offended me. I come from a place where the ambition of a large majority of people is to help people. I have lots count of how many oung people I know that want to join the police force, or the army, or be a doctor, or work for a chairty, or volunteer for all sorts of things because they are generally nice people. The people I am growing  with help old ladies across the road, not kick them over to mug them.

I think the media has ruined the image of a large amount of good people in today's youth through a small minority being rude, corrupted, mean, evil. So I wrote this hub to correct some peoples miss givings about young people at christmas, we are not all the selfish yobs that a large majority of the public assume we are. We generally care more about other people than ourselves.

So I would like to take this oppitunity to say happy christmas to everyone. Even tho it is a little early thought I might get in there now. :) And also to everyone who cannot be with their families this year, have a good time, and especially to the soliders who alot of people seem to forget, be safe.

Thankyou for reading my minor rant/christmas wishes :)
