It's not religion, it's a relationship. These words may sound like a fairy tale life, or a like a really corny movie, but this is absolute truth. Some people may say they have had religion shoved down there throats, and that is not right. This is the very thing God did not intend to do when he sent is only Son into the world. Man makes mistakes and adds more to God's plan than God intended, thats why things like this happens.

The Bible says in "Joh 3:15-17 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." KJV It was not his intent to shove anything down anyones throat. "Joh 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. " KJV

In John chapter 4, Jesus, God's son speaks to the Samaritan woman at the well. Christ tells her in "Joh 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. " KJV You see Christ offered this to her freely.

To have such a promise as this to know where you will be for eternity is THE way to have eternal happiness. To know that you have someone there for you at all times when you are sad or lonely, is a way to find hope in life. God is there for us at all times, whenever we need him. The Bible says in "Hebrews 4:15 We have a chief priest who is able to sympathize with our weaknesses. He was tempted in every way that we are, but he didn't sin.

Heb 4:16 So we can go confidently to the throne of God's kindness to receive mercy and find kindness, which will help us at the right time." GW

By knowing this, we see that God understands everything we are going through and by knowing that we can turn to him in times of uncertainty. So in conculsion, we find hope knowing that we can have eternal life through Jesus Christ, God's son who died on the cross for our sins. We find happiness through knowing that Christ was tempted in all ways and understands, also knowing that he conquered all temptation and death, we find hope knowing that death can not conquer us, but that we can have enernal life. Through these things we receive happiness, in the fruit of Christ's spirit who lives in those of us who freely chose him, "Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." KJV If you would like more answers, on eternal life and a relationship with Christ, my other hub gives many answers. I'll agree to that, my religion IS my personal relationship to my Lord and Savior, "Jesus Christ".

Just wanted to share my nibblets from the Bible:

"Just as the Lord giveth, so shall he taketh away."

our freedom, and thus our independence itself. Not only in America, but anywhere in the world that enjoys the same thing.

and

"And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."

So i can heartily say that it's (all of Christianity from start to finish, alpha to omega) a relationship more than religion. Thank you.

Interesting blog, although Iam inclined to disagree.James 1:27 (New International Version - UK)Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

Note that this scripture says Religion - not relationship. It also says pure and faultless; leading us to believe that it is not religion that is the problem. Rather, it is the perversion and distortion of Religion.Religion is defined by Merriam-Webster as:"b (1): the service and worship of God or the supernatural (2): commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance

Hm. If Christianity, or whatever it is you are practicing is NOT religion, then what is it? Are you not worshiping and serving God in your relationship?
