PART 2
Jenna ===============Continued...........
The phone rings, she doesn't want to answer it. She picks up the phone "hello", a familiar voice on the other end .Mr. O'Conner, "hi Jen sorry I am calling you so late", "that's ok" said "Jen", "what's up" she said? "We have an author in crises and he's asking for you". "Who is it"? "Stephen Lafarge".
"He isn't one of my clients". "I know" said Mr. O'Conner. "Stephen's editor has taken ill and he needs a replacement, this could be a lifelong contract with Mr. Lafarge since he has already written 28 books and everyone on the top sellers list". "This would be great for our firm and could make you partner"." Mr. O'Conner my work load is all ready full", "I know Jen".
"If I didn't think you could do this I wouldn't ask". "Besides everyone else is married with kids and", there was silence, "I know", said Jen" breaking the silence, "I didn't mean anything by it Jen", said Mr. O'Conner. "But Stephen is different he needs his editor to be with him where ever he is and he's willing to pay the price plus a contract". "Jen you are the best we have, can I count on you"?
Jen thinking to her self and knowing she needs a change agrees to take on this new demanding client. Great says Mr. O'Conner, you need to leave first thing in the morning.
A little shocked at the rush, she says leave, where am I going? "Ireland my dear lady" says Mr. O'Conner. "My secretary will call you in the morning with all the details", "and thanks again Jen". "Goodnight." Goodnight" I said and hung up the phone. I called my sister Samantha and asked her if she could water my plants and take care of max for me. "Jen" said Sam "yes" I said ,"this could be good for you, you know you cant actually meet Mr. right if you don't get out there", "what", I said, "do you think he's in Ireland" "you never know", said Sam. "Just do me a favor take a break from work and see the country and who knows" ".Ok" I said
Sam wants me to also look up some of our ancestors, she's into all that genealogy stuff. I said
I would if I got a chance .but I need to do some research on this Mr. Stephen Lafarge.
11:33pm by my clock and I'm getting tired, I've got my things packed and awaiting my instructions for the morning. It's getting too late to do any research on my new client.
"Goodnight max" I said as he cuddle up next to me in bed.
Monday morning I feed max and await my instructions for my new client, I don't understand why Mr. Lafarge is demanding, although many of my clients are a little eccentric and he is the most wanted writer, I can't
help thinking of partnership, its what
I have always wanted. Well I had better get on top of things and find out about my Mr. Lafarge.
The phone rings, "hello", "oh hi Betty". Betty was Mr. O'Conner's secretary actually she held us all together. I started 6 years ago fresh out of collage, thanks to a great recommendation from one of my professor's who
played golf with Mr. Conner.
Betty gives Jen her flight information and wishers her luck. Jen said" Betty do you know anything about Mr. Lafarge"? Betty responds with "I'm sorry my dear he a bit of a mystery to me as well, "ok" said Jen.
On her way to airport she thought she should pick up one of Mr. Lafarge's books and get a bit of an insight to his writing habits and maybe learn something. Full of excitement and actually looking forward to seeing
Ireland and wondering why she had never thought of going here before.
Jen was a thinker it seemed she never stopped thinking of this or that and things other people would not even think about .
boarding her plane and being lucky enough to get a window seat, she found herself daydreaming about her new adventure.
Looking out into the big beautiful blue sky with fluffy white clouds, Jen remembered as a child how she would pick out pictures mostly animals and then she stopped. She opened up her lap top and goggled "Stephen Lafarge". She found all of his books and some information on how he refused to do interviews.
She did not even find any pictures, not even on the back of his books.
The same thing appeared under about author that read,
Stephen Lafarge has been writing books, since he was 22 years of age.
There is an intimacy between the writer and the story. He has a way of capturing the reader's passion in his writing. A private and secluded life is his choice and his stories are based on real people and their life, you may not know if he puts you in his book. He finds a real person and learns about them and they not knowing he is a writer will incorporate them in to his book. He could be someone you meet at the coffee shop, he has taken on employment to gain a new story, and you may be the story. That is why there is no picture.
