The Collected Edition of JK Rowling's The Tales of Beedle the Bard.

Last December, J.K. Rowling’s “The Tales of Beedle the Bard” was sold to Amazon.com for a record price of 1.95 million pounds ($3.86 million). The book was not available for sale to the public but now a charity will make it so.

"The Tales of Beedle the Bard'' is a book of five wizardry fairy tales mentioned in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows''. Only seven copies were made available at that time, one of them went to Amazon and the rest to private contacts of JK Rowling’s.

The Children’s High Level Group, a charity co-founded by Rowling along with Emma Nicholson, a member of the U.K. House of Lords, released this news in a statement. They said the book will be available (pre-order sale) in Standard ($7.59) and Collected Edition ($100) at Amazon.com as well as in Amazon.co.uk. In UK, they will be available at a price of 6.99 pounds and 50 pounds respectively.

The book will also be released through publishers Bloomsbury Plc and Scholastic Corp.

The proceeds from the book sales will aid more than one million European children and teenagers growing up in residential institutions.

The statement from the Children’s High Level Group said the following:

The Bloomsbury and Scholastic editions, priced at 6.99 pounds and $12.99, respectively, will include an introduction by Rowling and commentary on each fairy tale from Albus Dumbledore, the beloved headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Amazon will try to mimic the original handcrafted book and make the book available for sale on December 4.

Amazon plans to produce as many as 100,000 copies of a collector's edition that will mimic the look and feel of the handwritten original, the release said. It will be priced at 50 pounds and $100. All editions go on sale on Dec. 4.

JK Rowling said in the same statement:

The new edition will include the Tales themselves, translated from the original runes by Hermione Granger, and with illustrations by me, but also notes by Professor Albus Dumbledore, which appear by generous permission of the Hogwarts Headmasters' Archive,''

Good news for the Harry Potter fans, most likely the collected editions will sell more.
