I would like to say that I have never written a poem before in my life.

Before I met Hubpages, in fact, I had never even written anything except for school essays.

Below here, is a poem I have written about a beautiful apricot rose my "Just Joey", it was

such a big rose that it just inspired me to write about it. I have tried to capture in my poem

just how beautiful it really was, a truly big and wonderful bloom.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I had writing it and picture my garden in your minds with my

lovely tall rose sitting there, my lovely "Just Joey"

MY BEAUTIFUL ROSE 'JUST JOEY'

The colourful blooms of my roses so sweet,

they sway too and fro, in a rythmical beat,

There's the pink, and the yellow and the awesome blue,

And the beautiful brilliant white

As you walk up my path, and bend down to take

In the fragrance, it is hard to ignore,

That the pride of them all, that stands very tall

Is my favourite of all,'Just Joey'.

So, If you're going my way

And you happen to stop by my

lovely colourful blooms.

I'm sure you'll agree,

Its a great sight to see,

When it bows to the ground when its blowy

Its the best one of all, my beautiful rose,

The one that I call "Just Joey"

The fragrant aroma that comes from my roses,

Will lift your spirits when you're feeling blue,

I promise you now, that you'll never forget,

What affect my colourful blooms had on you.

You'll be telling your friends of the garden you saw,

That has fragrant roses that are hard to ignore,

You'll tell them the best, that beats all the rest ,

Which has a name that rhymes with snowy,

Is my favourite one, the one that I call "Just Joey".

I LOVE this, BB, keep at it!

PS: My hubby's the rosekeeper in the family and I've never thought to write about one...what a great little poetic romp!

Thanks Laural. It is my very first poem. I just felt inspired by that rose, it was so big and beautiful. Maybe hubby can give me some tips. Talk soon, BB

I can almost smell it. He is just gorgeous, this Joey. You need to write more poetry my dear, this is most excellent. I think I may know a thing or two about poetry, you be the judge of that. love and peace, CC

Hi BB! I love your poem about Joey. The poem is uplifting and captures both the beauty of the rose and your joy at beholding it. Well done! Welcome to Hub pages.

well done, a great start the rose is lovely and the poem is a fine tribute to its beauty. Welcome to hubpages, if I am allowed to say that as I've only been here three months. I think it's lots of fun learning how to put together hubs in different ways. Thank you for sharing.

well for not writing a poem/poetry before this is a really good job at the rhythmical poetry. This takes me back to like Robert Faust in my opinion. This is very heartfelt and descriptive. Not really my style, I'm more of a lyrical poet, free verse and personal but on all honesty good job and keep working at it and day by day it will progress. Write everyday. As you may know, just let the pen go never stop until you are finished then fix what you need too..
