JV Giveaways

Have you ever heard of JV giveaways? I have recieved several invitations over the last couple of years via email from some of the safe-lists that I belong to but have always ignored them. I assumed that the products would be old over sold PLR products that I already had and never took the time to check one of them out.

I am on Harris Fellman's email list and this past December he ran a "Santa Sal" JV giveaway using video promotions with his "Sal the Site Stealer" character. I saw Harris speak at the World Internet Main Event in San Franciso this past September and I have a lot of respect and confidence in the things he recommends, so I decided to check it out.

I was blown away by the quality and quantity of high dollar products that were being given away. Keith Wellman's gift was so big it took 5 zip files to download. There were gifts from a plethora of famous internet marketers ranging from software scripts to free memberships. These were products that I had seen for sale earlier in the year for as much as $297!

Now I am not saying that all JV giveaways have such high caliber gifts but there are always at least a few. They are definately worth checking out. You only have to spend a few minutes to sign up and then browse through the gifts and pick out what you want. You can an arsenal of internet marketing products and get a lot of free graphics packages too.

Yeah, JV giveaways are a great source of free products but that is not where the true value lies. I have put together a guide that will show you everything you need to know about using giveaways to build your list.

The true power of JV Giveaways lies in the ability to build your list like you wouldn't believe! Sure, it's great to get all the free gifts but if you are not participating in the giveaway and providing a product of your own, then you are missing out big time.

I know you have heard that "the money is in the list", and you will continue to hear it. It was true before but is even more critical today. There has been a substantial shift in the way that internet marketing is done. People have grown tired and immune to over hypey (is that a word?) sales pages. It takes a lot more to get someone to pull out their credit card than it used to.

In the new world of Web 2.0, relationship marketing is what works. You need to find a way to collect name and email address to put your prospects into your marketing funnel and make your money on the back end. Marketers have been giving away things for free for quite some time now, in return for your information. This strategy is nothing new and is very effective. JV giveaways create the perfect environment for this.

Imagine if you could get 100's of internet marketers, some of whom have humongous email lists, to promote your free report or product. How long do you think it would take for you to build a nice sized list even if only 1% signed up? Sounds like a dream? Well that is exactly what happens at a JV giveaway.

You get to leverage the efforts of all the JV partners that are participating in the event. Everyone is promoting the same website. You get the same traffic as the guy with the 100,000 member email list. This levels the playing field for the newbie that has not built a list yet.

I have been participating in JV Giveaways since the beginning of this year and have quadrupled my email list in just over a month. If you are not participating in these events you are blowing a great opportunity to build a list in record time. The JV Giveaways don't cost anything to participate but you are required to promote your affiliate link.

You do need a product, which can be a report, an ebook, software, graphics, videos, membership to something, use your imagination. I have a safelist called JT's Ad Venture. I give away Pro memberships with a couple Solo ads and some banner impressions. I also give away some ebooks that I have master resell rights to. Try and target your gift towards your auidience. The more desirable your gift, the more sign ups you are going to get.

If you don't have a product to give away as a gift then you should pick up a private label rights product somewhere that you can use. Look below to find a list of links to some good places to get PLR products.

You will also need web hosting and a good autoresponder. When people click on your gift, you want to send them to your auto responder's sign up form. If you are an experienced internet marketer you probably already have both. If you don't then you are going to need them if you want to be an internet marketer. If you are invovled with a program that tells claims you can get rich with out either of these tools then run for the hills! You are being scammed.

When your prospects enter their information into your sign up form they will be required to verify their email address by clicking on a link inside an email that is automatically sent by your auto responder. Now you have two options here. You can send them directly to the download page to pick up their free gift, or you can send them to a one time offer before they download their gift.

This is what the big dogs do. Not only can you build your list for free, but you stand a good chance to make a few sales as well. This is how you need to optimize the leads you collect. Even if they don't buy your one time offer they are now in your auto responder which you should have set up ahead of time. Some people will unsubscibe and that is normal. The key is to provide your subscribers with interesting and valuable content and make them the occassional offer.

If you try to pitch them with tons of hypey (there's that word again) emails they will surely unsubscribe.Try and put your self in their shoes when you set up your auto responder. If you build a good relationship with them, they will become an asset to you for the future. This is where the relationship marketing comes in.

Ok, if you are new to all this, then chances are you don't have a product to give away and surely don't have a one time offer or know how to set one up.
