When You Are Moving Too Fast
When You Are Moving Too Fast
Do you find yourself rushing from one appointment to the next? Do even have time to relax let alone breathe? Finding yourself in this situation is just too difficult. You will eventually break down and you will eventually get tired. Yes, living life in the fast lane may have its perks, but it also presents some downside. If you're always on the move, you are bound to get exhausted. As many people believe, life isn't meant to be rushed. But what exactly can you do if you have too much to do? Being on time is just as important after all.
Just as you're about to leave the office, there's always one more thing to do. That one thing turns into several more until you get stuck. In most cases, those things can actually wait until later. What you need to do right now is what is on your schedule. You have to prioritize your work and learn to evenly distribute what you have to do within the day or the week. Instead of busying yourself with work until you have to leave, try to step what you're doing ten minutes before. Use this time to gather your things and file confidential papers. In your haste, you often forget about equally important matters. You can even lose some of your files along the way. This would be the last thing you want. You may just end up using some of your vital time to redo the work you lost.
Having some breathing room is key so that you can gather your wits about and think straight. It is necessary that you put yourself in a better frame of mind so that you can plan your day more efficiently. When you make this a habit, you will notice that you will never be late for meetings. You may even leave earlier than you had intended. Instead of giving in to the urge of squeezing in more work in that extra time, try to leave earlier. You'll actually be giving yourself some form of buffer in case you run into an emergency. Moreover, you'll save yourself the hassle of having to explain why you were late.
Life in the slow lane can actually be a very rewarding experience. You may think that you're achieving so much if you don't give yourself some breathing time. Yes, you are running on adrenaline and you've fueled yourself to do everything at once. This multi-tasking can actually make things work. Have you ever heard of the saying, jack of all trades, master at none? This simply means that you may have done a lot, but all your outputs aren't spectacular in any way. People need to relax every so often. Taking a step back means that you aren't overburdening your body with different forms of anxiety.
The secret to slowing down is also being contented with the small things that you have been blessed with. Know what matters most to you and realize that you've also been gifted with what you need to go through life. What is your personal truth? Give time for yourself to relax and reflect on the good things. You get to calm your heart and restore your creative balance. You can only think efficiently if you clear away the clutter. Work towards your goal a day at a time and be aware of the truth present in your life.
