Blacks, Whites, Indians, Chinese, Syrians, etc. although about 85% or more of the population of Jamaica is black and the ruling class is black now, it has not always been that way. Back in colonial time the ruling class was white and the blacks where slaves, that worked on the sugar plantations. You see we used to be a British colony that's why or countries language is English, how every most Jamaica communicate on a day to day base with patios (Pronounce Pat-Wah), the native language other wise known as broken English.
The Land of Wood and Water
That what Jamaica is known for our beautiful white sand beaches and lush country side vegetation which gave rise to Eco tourism a new and thriving business in Jamaica now. And most people already know us for our world renown beaches. River rafting on our several river tributaries all around the island.
Music
Most of the World know us for our world renown sounds and music; reggae music and our party jumping beats. One of our most famous musician is Bob Marley and the Wailers. Check out my other hub about Jamaican music (Reggae). Our Music is so dynamic, their is just no other sound out there nothing like it makes you feel good and nothing like it that makes you want to dance all night long. I love reggae music and the different form it comes in its our music.

Old Harbour Jamaica
I am a born Jamaican. I lived in jamaica for all my childhood years. I went to Jamaica College (High School) in Kingston but I lived in Old Harbour a small Town in St. Catherine . I loved sports and Community service. I used to love going to Church and AYF to meet friends and discuss community service activities. These things have shaped my life today as I'm a member of my church Gospel choir as wll as usher for activities at the church I attend in Michigan in Southfield. You can check out some pictures of Old Harbour below

The Old Harbour police station is seen in the picture above, I don't have very found memories of the police station when i had an accident back in 1993 the came to the hospital and reported back to the community that nothing had happen to us. I was very disappointed at their actions. But i was young and naive to think they would seek justice on my behalf.
