About 20 years ago when I was a stiudent in newcastle upon tyne the local cinema had a suggestion box at the back of the auditorium which I used to make use of by selecting movies as double features for either sunday evening or saturday late shows. 

The late show started at midnight and carried on until the last reel of the second or occasionally third movie was over. One of my suggestions - which they took me up on at the time, was a double bill of "East of Eden" and "Rebel Without A Cause".. The cinema was packed to the rafters as I remember it with appreciative students and the towns alternative people, mainly goths and hippies at the time.

Its easy to see the appeal of James Dean to teenagers.The sultry looks and angst ridden personality expressmuch of whatbeing a teenager is about. Dean has an androgenous look which appeals to both sexes and all ages.
