James Lafferty is probably one of One Tree Hill's hottest guy. He may not be as famous as his co-star, Chad Michael Murray, but right now, James seems to be getting all of the attention.

Baby James, which is what he was used to be called by other cast members since he was the youngest star over there, being the only teenager, plays Nathan Scott on the series. James was born on July 25, 1985 in Hemet, California to parents Angie and Jeff Lafferty. He also has a younger brother, Stuart, who's also a fellow actor who has appeared on One Tree Hill.

During his free time, James enjoys playing basketball. He was a basketball player at his high school and he even earned an MVP award. Prior to getting a role on the CW series, James actually auditioned for The Perfect Score but he later lost the role to actor Bryan Greenberg who also makes a couple of appearances on One Tree Hill.

Right after knowing he got the part on the show, James was very ecstatic. What most people probably don't know is he actually auditioned for the part of the good son, Lucas Scott. Producer's of the series didn't really see Chad Michael Murray playing a bad guy, so they decided to switch the two roles.

James Lafferty is also an executive producer for the documentary series, Yank Tanks, which was released in 2002. The series is about cars, one of James favorite things. Although James was only about 17 years old when he worked on the project, he claims it was definitely an exciting experience.

In his personal life, James is said to be pretty quiet. James has never dated his One Tree Hill co-star and he hopes not to because he doesn't want to ruin the connection while acting. James has also been said to be romantically linked to his co-star Sophia Bush, in December 2007. Sophia's rep tells the media that the rumor is totally untrue.

James also hangs out with a lot of his co-stars who mostly resides in Wilmington, the place where the show is being shot. Among the co-stars that he considers to be his close friends are Chad Michael Murray and Tyler Hilton.

James is considered to be one of the head turners in the industry for his young age and good looks. The acting challenges he receives from being part of the show allows fans to view the good and bad side of him. With the fact that he's only 22, things seem to be getting better for this California native.
