Dana vs Jamie

In 1978, Diff'rent Strokes debuted on NBC about a wealthy white widower who adopts two young black boys, Willis (Todd Bridges) and Arnold (Gary Coleman). The show was an immediate hit and although Dana was a supporting character, She claimed to have made up to $100,000 an episode during its peak but all Dana's luck ran out once she got pregnant in 1984. The producers felt Plato could no longer play the wholesome Kimberly Drummond as a teen mom. Their had been rumors that Dana got let go because she was on drugs but the producers were adamant that the pregnancy was the only reason Plato's character was written out the show. After getting fired from the show Dana's life went down hill from there. Her boyfriend left her, she lost her child, she had a horrible drug habit, she robbed a gas station and was in and out jail and rehab. Dana committed suicide in 1999 at the age of 34.

Although Dana was 20 when she gave birth to her son and didn't have much family support, I believe what's happening to Britney Spear's little sister Jamie Spears is the same thing that happened to Dana. Just like Dana, Jamie may get fired from her hit show because she will no longer be able to play the wholesome Zoe 911 as a pregnant teen. Jamie is also going to have a lot of people saying she is no one to look up to but they forget, there are lots of pregnant and unpregnant teens that may become pregnant that can look up to her. Now if a teen mom sees that if Jamie could hold her head up, they can too.

It's Zoe 101, not 911, haha. I think that would dramatically change the subject matter of that show, eh?

And I'm not so sure that they're the only two teens fired from shows for pregnancy. Jamie's story is going to be very different, considering her sister's past and status
