The Jamis Bike Series

Jamis features an extensive range of mountain bikes and some of the most popular in their 2009 series are:

Jamis Commuter – The Jamis Commuter 4 retails at around $1000 and is a purpose built bike to help people commute over long distances helping you to reduce your carbon footprint and also stay healthy. This line of bikes won the 2007 award for the "Best Commuting Bike" in Bicycling Magazine because it provides an effortless and relaxing ride.

Xenith T-Series – If you are looking for speed then the Xenith T2 may be for you. The design of the Xenith 2 is simply stunning.

DakarBam – The DakarBam II is the ultimate machine for people seeking fun and an adrenaline rush. This downhill bike has excellent rear suspension and a shock absorbent frame to make traversing steel chutes, rock gardens and slick rock slabs easier than ever before.

Comfort Road – The comfort road range is suited to people looking for a way to enjoy open roads in their leisure. The featured bike in this range is the Eclipse which offers one a durable frame and unparalleled ride quality. The steel frame of this bike provides a perfect riding experience which is an advantage over the aluminium and carbon frames that other manufacturers use.

Dakar XCT – For cross country riders, the Dakar XCT 3 is a great choice for a cross country bike. This bike offers a good go between of pure cross country performance and aggressive trail riding. The Jamis Dakar XCT 3 is light and fast and features a mp3 suspension along with a plush saddle and a stable pedal.

Jamis Bikes and Value

Jamis bikes offer great value for money and, unlike other brands, which charge a premium for their badge. The frames are generally well designed and the components used reflect the price paid for the bike. They are generally a good buy, with more bang-for-the-buck than the more heavily promoted brands like Trek and Specialized. The low-end frames of all three companies are made in the Far East.   Quality and features tend to be pretty competitive in the $300-500 range, and differences between bike brands are often less important than the differences between the places that sell them.
