Morning Banana Diet

Japan has been hit by the Banana Diet it's pretty simple and great for me I love banans and usually eat one every morning.

Here's how it goes.

One or Two Bananas in the morning

One glass of room temperature water

optional snack at 3 p.m.

Eat whatever you want for lunch and dinner

No desserts at all

Alcohol consumption is discouraged

No food after 8:00 pm.

Go to bed by 12:00 pm

There's been a run on bananas in Japan they can't keep them in the store.

The diet was designed by Sumiko Watanabe for her husband who she

claims lost 37 lbs. Sumiko Watanabe is a pharmacist.

Why Bananas are good for you.

Bananas: High in fiber a banana gives an instant, boost of energy. It's said it provides enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout.

High in iron

high in potassium yet low in salt

Good for high blood pressure

Good for heart burn if you have trouble with digestion ( some people do ) of banana sprinkle a little pepper on it.

Lovely Banana Tree

I have no idea if this diet works. It sure looks like you get plenty to eat. Maybe more then you need. I just thought I would put it on a let everyone see what it's all about. Like I said I love bananas I can do this I know. It's leaving out the sugar that would be my problem. With Thanksgiving and Christmas coming and all those good desserts.

I have tried many diets. I'm in Weight Watchers now. I starve on Weight Watchers it just not enough food. I know it has worked for many people. I plan on staying with it because it helps me by going to the meetings and have to weigh in.

This sounds interesting. I like knowing the latest 'everything.'

I pick up a banana almost everyday now to eat now that watermelon season is gone. And I start my morning with a cup of warm water to detox.

Hmm. I can do this.

Thanks again!

No sugar at all, I guess this means no bread or fruit.

Thanks to both of you for stopping by. I'm going to change that to no desserts at all because that is actually what it says.

It sounds like plenty of food and you will not feel deprived!

Good hub! Don't see where it could hurt anyone. Room temperature water is the norm in many places outside of the U.S. anyway.

LouiseKnittel thanks for stopping by I also think it sounds like plenty of food so that's what makes me wonder if it will work. I do know with myself if I have any sugar at all I start right away putting it on.

Jerilee Wei, the water is going to be my hardest part I like water but I want it ice cold. Room temp and warm water make me feel kinda sick.

Used to feel the same way about water, then started traveling internationally and learned "it's all about what you are used to." Ice cold water and ice is not the norm, even in Europe. There are scientific reasons why ice water also isn't necessarily good for us too.

I have to be up on all the latest diet fads, whether I try them or not. This one sounds pretty good. Of course, the real question is how HUNGRY you are while doing it. ;)

I love bananas. Which is a good thing because I have low potassium levels and coronary artery disease. My heart doctor tells me you need potassium for your heart. Great article. Thank you.

I know just what you mean I also love bananas but I have ended up in the hospital with low potassium and believe me it was terrible and it can cause death. My water pills that I take for my heart caused my low potassium so now I have to take potassium pills.

Thanks for the info. This would probably work! I'm not too into diets, but I know bananas help flush you out and unbloat after you eat too much salt.

I heared banana mkae you fat it true or not?

moonlake profile image

Calories are always what count in making you fat. 110 Calories in an Apple and A small sized (peeled) banana contains about 80 calories so I would say their no different then other fruits and they are good for you just like any other fruit. I know no other reason why bananas would make you fat.

Thanks for comments.
