Jean-Philippe Susilovic
Name: Jean-Philippe Susilovic
Birthdate: 1972
Birthplace: Brussels, Belgium
Jean-Philippe Susilovic, also known as JP, is the charismatic maitre d' on Hell's Kitchen. He has been working with Gordon Ramsay for a number of years, first working for him in his restaurants, and then moving over to work with him on television.
Jean-Philippe is sometimes confused with another of Ramsay's maitre d', Jean-Baptiste Requien. Jean-Baptiste is French, and that has led some people to also believe Jean-Philippe is also French.
On Season One of Hell's Kitchen US, contestant Ralph Pagano called Jean-Philippe "Jean-Pierre" on multiple occasions.
On Season Two, Keith Greene won a challenge and was taken to Las Vegas (along with Virginia Dalbeck, the person he chose to accompany him) to see the site of the restaurant the winning contestant would be taking over. Traveling past the Eiffel Tower replica, Keith said, "Hey, there's Jean-Philippe! It's Paree!" to which Virginia replied, "He's from Belgium, you idiot!"
In 2005, Susilovic reportedly fell from the balcony of his 3rd floor apartment while trying to break in because he didn't have his keys with him. He was in a coma for several days, and suffered a broken back. Susilovic made a full recovery, and is currently still working with Chef Ramsay.
