Jelangkung, The Haunted Puppet
72Jelangkung is one of the game from Indonesia that actually forbidden to do. Jelangkung game is a wooden puppet who loaded by supernatural power which they call or invite spirit of ghost to come. Jelangkung game is a legacy our forefathers because its supernatural power. Involving the departed spirit, the confusion in the world find their own way that is indeed, in the dark, suddenly came by a call to gather with people who call his name. This game is usually done by three or four people who hold the puppet jelangkung, who read the mantra, and people who prepare stationery, like pen and paper. This game is done in the most haunted places in the night, usually between of 10 pm until midnight. Jelangkung game is very dangerous for people and does not understand the supernatural or not expert with kind of magic, because usually people who play this game will be affected from this game. And usually people who play jelangkung will possessed by the ghost, even up will haunted by the ghost.
Because people have called from the afterlife, then they ask
for responsibility from them. Many media used in the Jelangkung game certainly be
accompanied call the spirit, like Puppet or a peace of paper. If the spirit of
the holy people are called, have been called by other players (because of the
spirit is very popular ).
Then certainly there will be a pause or stop the game until the spirit will come again
to continue the game or communication will be resumed. This games usually tend
to ask questions is "yes" or "no"
My friend had to play it, that is the first time he used to make dolls or Puppet, made of by the coconut shell as a head, the body from the wood, don’t forget wearing it clothes. Drawn the eyes, mouth and nose. In the two hands are given pencils to write. When the night arrived, He began to read with the mantra to call the spirit. When my friend ask the puppet who it was, the puppet wrote a name, I think that is a name of the person who has died because of suicide. Very scary moment. It hands write at papers who holded by my other friend. The puppet is writing from where he was and why he died Sometimes my friends ask the lottery number.

There's a game we play here in the states called Ouija that sounds sort of like your Jelangkung. It's not a puppet, but it's a board and there's a crystal that sort of directs itself to spell out things on a row of letters. Very scary too if done in the right place etc. Good stuff.

I am a Moslem. In my religion we believe that behind this puppet movement because of "jinn" you know it's kind of genie/daemon. not really spirit from someone died because of accident or suicide. And in my religion there is a another world after life. Actually just the body was died. but the spirit still a live.

the puppet hand was moving and writing something. when we ask about name the puppet write a name. And the "genie" have a rule behind this action. And most of people believe that kind of spirit who move the hand of puppet. and the puppet hand is really move and write. I believe the "genie" not the spirit. As we now that Both of them is unseen for us.

the puppet hands which writing not my hands friend. just the "paranormal" who have "special ability" can see and talk with genie. As a normal person I can't do that. Genie is unseen creatures. In my religion "genie" create by the GOD. I hope this answer make you satisfied.

The genie can speak but it heard by the blessed person like paranormal. There are many paranormal in Malang. But not only in Malang. But around my country. With many specific and various ability. They expert about kind of things.

there are many paranormal spread around my country. They have specific ability, like healing disease that doctor can't do, like HIV, cancer and many disease. And the disease cause by genie. This disease unreasonable , the doctor can't diagnose it. the paranormal can help us in our job, love. And keep our house, car, our property from another disturb. And many ability that I can't mention here. Unfortunately most paranormal can't speak English. because they usually using Indonesia language.
