The Marriage Ref

Yes, you heard it right. Seinfeld is returning to NBC TV to do a reality comedy show "The Marriage Refs". This time it is just not a show about nothing - rather it is a show about serious stuff but shown in a funny way. It is the age of reality shows today - so Seinfeld will not be doing a sitcom this time. This prime time series on NBC is a reality series about marital spats that are funny. The reality TV show is tentatively titled as "The Marriage Ref". Jerry Seinfeld will be the brain behind the show and also be the producer of the new reality show for NBC TV.

What is the new reality show about?

"The Marriage Refs", the new reality show created by Jerry Seinfeld for NBC is about funny marital spats. The show will feature celebrities from hollywood, TV, sports and comedians who are willing to candidly discuss different strategies for couples who are in the middle of a dispute. Hopefully it will help the real-life couples in their real lives and be funny at the same time providing us ample entertainment. Well...Seinfeld is not making a show about nothing. The reality show is about real life couples with real problems. Being the master of his domain, there is  no doubt Jerry Seinfeld is working hard to make it a big hit. I am not sure how successful he will be doing a reality show though. He is very good in using the language which will be great for a sitcom - hope the success translates to the reality show as well. NBC TV is counting on the new reality show from the master big time and so am I. I still watch "Seinfeld" from 1990s as there is no replacement till today - okay...except for some "Family Guy" and some "Office". The idea is to place cameras in many areas of the house in as many as households that allow and cooperate. Then the couples will be brought to a set where a panel of judges or commentators will offer their comments and opinions on the marital spat. It all has to be humorous which could be really challenging.

Jerry Seinfeld has been married for nine years with Jessica Seinfeld and has three children. Seinfeld is no doubt great at observing things that happen in everyday's life and see rib tickling humor in that. He has made excellent comedy out of just doing groceries, parking on the roadside, dentist appointment, waiting for an elevator (?!?), etc. Now that he has a great platform that is "marriage" to do the show, even though it is limiting his area, it is indeed a gold mine for great humor. Disputes between husband and wife can be seen in a funny way also.

When will Seinfeld's new reality show open on TV?

Rumor says it could be as early as coming Fall or the next telivision season.

Recently, Seinfeld was seen doing ads with Bill Gates for Microsoft. The last episode of "Seinfeld" he did for NBC was in 1998. This is his first time returning back to TV after these many years. hopefully, the athletes, celebrities, movie stars, Hollywood big names, sports stars and other comedians that are going to be helping the show make it a big show and so Jerry Seinfeld's new reality show "The Marriage Ref" will last longer. We will have to wait and see how the story unfolds and evolves.

For now, Jerry Seinfeld plans to stay behind the scenes, we will have to wait and see if he has to star in the new reality show on NBC "The Marriage Ref".
