56Buy High Quality Classics that last
I have clothes that I still wear from five years ago, they are classic styles, that never go bad. I have a black long sleeved shirt with shirt collars and cuffs. I have seen a similar style recently popular at the department stores. I feel comfortable in them, and they still fit.
I know I look good in black and jewel colors. Hot pink suits me too, but even I don't want to wear pink everyday. I find that I can be ahead of a trend fairly easily. I thought flip flops would make funky foot wear for a formal occasion before everyone else started, but I think slacks and a sweater are nice too.
The point is, if you find something you really like, you can start a trend or at least have a fashion find. But don't buy stuff that falls apart, no matter how reasonable it seems. The deal isn't worth it unless say, its a fad and you don't care if it lasts.
But if you shop for things that look good on you and you know you can wear for years, and look classic and it is a good price, you can feel good and look good.
