Jester Humor
55Folly that is wise?
A comedy is different from a tragedy in that the character has a chance to survive only if they change. Today we are enduring tragic climate change and so must our attitude. Being serious is alright, however, being too serious about oneself is another matter. A higher self is in order admist this our collective disorder an this is why a sense of humor is essential. I find that I must shift my mode since it is easy to get depressed, angry, anxious due to the state of our world. Some might even call this our America Benighted States of Hysteria.
Humor offers a form of non violent reflection from today's self destructive habits. We can laugh and awaken that we are not too smart is so many ways. Even possibly get wise to our foolishness. What is funny is that we are caught by our own projections, misinterpretations and desires. Such illusion, delusions and other tricks can either awaken or deceive us. When we see that we live in a house of mirrors and that both laughing and crying are the same release then we can laugh with joy in what is revealed.
Yes we are a fool and have been manipulated since our whole world is a deception. By appreciation this trickery then we begin to truly see. Oh the divine is so tough to find since laughter truly is primordial secret source of truth.
Our life is like a circus and we are clowns attempting to find some meaning. This carnival is where all of us participate in searching for some sense out of nonsense. The personification of comedy where there is possibility to change our character is the fool!
The wild card is the highest card in the deck and is thrown out many times in the game. However, this discard is priceless, since laughter, love and merriment is it's symbol is wildly free of the deck's hierarchy. The fool is a shamanic force representing the non ordinary or the world of the psyche. Wisely mad this jester walks on the razor edge between sublime and the ridiculous. Fumbling on the high wire of reality and fantasy, The changer, the trickster, the transformer, this motley being is both sad, merry and may quite mad playing out a ludic role. Yes this ludicrous individual sheds light on both on bondage and our path to freedom.
From folly a kind of wisdom can be born from the fool and his/hers mischief. Out of our trials and tribulations some cleverness can arise from the perverse form of a clown. From laughter insight comes from this spontaneity with some form of sublime message. Shakespeare said that jesters do often prove prophets. He also said, "I had rather a fool make me merry than experience to make me sad."
Observing a clown you are exposed to a full weather system of emotions. Much comes from simple human events without a sense of rawness embarrassing, tragic or uneasy moments. Even out of sorrow humor acts to balance grief.
So you can either be a comic or tragic depending if you exercise your free will to be an agent of change.
Below are some insights inspired by George Carlin how we are walking contradictions experiencing many wrong directions in finding our way towards peace and prosperity.

We have more information today yet exercise less wisdom
We have greater education but learn less
Greater forms of medicines, but less wellness
We have traveled our solar system but few venture their own souls
More accumulated material wealth, however a deep sense of spirit poverty
We accumulated more stuff but have less things that really matter
We have greater experts yet increased problems
We run around making a living time to enjoy life
We rush around more but infrequently arrive to be present
We spend hours on cell phones but failed to deeply communicate
We have become more civilized but lackcivility
We have developed more leisure but seem to have less fun
We know how to work but not ignorant how to really play
We have bountiful kinds of food but great malnutrition
We spend trillions on defense but little on peace
We spend all our time becoming but never take time to just be
We are mostly in our heads yet little time in our bodies
We cherish our minds while many my ignore their hearts
We now the price of things but not their full value
We have a pill for everything but still do not go to the root of the real disease.
We stress out about things the really do not matter while we can not relax what is important.
We have greater knowledge but show less observation and judgement.
We venture off to look for things we have right here
We battle many physical things but not found peace with our inner self
