Jesus Has Caller ID

If Jesus just knew what I needed

I’m sure he’d answer the call

To look around and see someone so defeated

Surely he would not ignore or just stall….

Some days I’m so tired

Some days I’m so weak

But I know that I’m lucky

It’s not just what I think

Breathing, and living..and healthy

A heart  that beats and eyes that blink

There were days when I needed a reminder

Times when I needed a friend

A life full of questions with no answers

Words left unspoken, hearts on the mend

Dreams that were shattered, and roads that would bend

If Jesus just knew that I loved him

If I knew he had caller ID

Then I’d know and be patient and not worry

He has to hear it ring

Doesn’t he know that it’s me?

I think that he’s already answered

As a matter of fact

He’s the one who made the call

The message was strong, so important

He said Child…I’ve been there watching you stumble

And I’ll be here again.. soon you will fall

Jesus does have Caller ID.. it’s true

He knows when he’s needed

Your call just has to go in the que

It’s not as important as you may think

Sometimes he leaves you hanging on the line awhile

He wants you to think….

Jesus left me a voice mail

He said Dear you must let all the pain go

Take my hand and enter a new world

Where you are happy and healthy

And watch your children grow

The time for stress is all over

Tears will fall and memories must suffice

Jesus understands I was not ready to join him

I fought the white light and relived my life in my head

filled out a living will, talked to my children by my bed

There is much more to do here he told me

Your work here is so far from done

It's time to finish things you have started

Yes, your leaving a life behind you

But there is a new one waiting up ahead....

Now stop wining, I’m giving you this advice

You will have pain but it will be worth the price

So instead of Hanging Out in the clouds

Looking down on my loved ones singing Amazing Grace

I’m back in the game getting a second chance

Not everyone gets that wake up call

I will not forget

once again I will dance…

I’ll be able to walk in the moonlight

On a beach with someone I love

Someday I’ll be handed my first grandchild

And I’ll laugh and thank God above

Maybe there’s something I meant to do that’s important

A book to write, a heart to heal, a lesson to learn

Jesus knew that he had a plan for me

And  he gave me the chance to answer the phone

So Jesus gave me a new heart

One that’s fresh and needs some getting used to

It’s a miracle and I’ll forever be thankful

That Jesus answered my prayers

And pulled me through…….

So if you get this message Jesus,

It’s just me calling and I’d like to say Thank You

Hey Irish, you've outdone yourself with this one. I'm really glad to see that you're taking your second chance and running with it. A big part of the healing process is letting go of the fear of moving on. Well, you're on your way....and doing great.

Very nice Erin. This is a wonderful way to look at recovery. Continue on the road and you'll be around for great-grandchildren.

Erin, Since reading your poems and talking with you, I feel as though I already know you so well. I want to thank you for your words of encouragement to pen something myself, and I'm excited to get started. Continue with your hubs, looking forward to reading more.
