Great prices on tested and chronographed electric airsoft rifles and pistols
Under $130 this Soviet Airsoft gun delivers!
First here is a little History on the Soviet AK74 before we begin. Based on the highly popular AK47 and AKM Soviet rifles, The AK-74 is a 5.45 mm assault rifle adapted in the early 1970s in the Soviet Union (AK74 short for - Avtomat Kalashnikova Model 1974). One of the rifle's main versions is the AKS-74 equipped with a side-folding metal stock. This variant, designed mainly for use with air assault infantry, was introduced alongside the AK-74. It is in use today by many former Soviet block Countries. There are many tactical variants of this highly utilized soviet assault rifle.
Jing Gong has been producing some great AK Series Guns. The Jing Gong Airsoft JG515 is no exception to this rule! You'll recognize the generic plain box packing that has been the Jing Gong Trademark. The contents are nicely packaged and include: AEG, 84.V 1100Mah stick battery, wall charger, 600 round hi-Cap waffle magazine, Starter BBs, clearing rod, front sight adjustment tool, and manual. Take it out of the box and you instantly feel the balanced weight of this mostly metal airsoft gun. Nylon fiber is used for the front grips and hand grip. Nylon fiber is very durable and was a great choice to complement this tactical AK74 replica. It is also a TM clone, so you can use most TM parts on the market for upgrades, repairs or accessorizing it.
On the outside the Jing Gong airsoft A47, sports solid metal body and nylon fiber grips make it one durable, mid-range Airsoft Electric Gun. The body is tight, with little or no wobble, and the weapon is very well balanced. Like most Jing Gong airsoft guns it required minimal effort to tighten up some of the external body screws. The JG0515 comes with a tactical folding stock for up close and personal CQB situations. Jing Gong used the wire frame folding stock similar to their JG6614 M733 model. Although it's not really authentic soviet accessorizing, it is solid and works very well on this gun and it's very solid. The fore grip is railed for easy mounting of airsoft gear. There is also a foldable front grip that gives you added firing stability. A 600-round waffle style ratchet magazine is included with this airsoft rifle. This will minimize time between reloads. The black finish and metal/nylon fiber combination gives this Airsoft Tactical AK a very rugged, militarized look.
On the inside, this gun sports the typical Jing Gong metal gear box, high torque motor, and spring system. The gun also has an adjustable hop-up that is accessed by pulling the bolt lever back. The only downside of the hop-up cover is it doesn't have a bolt catch. You have to keep the spring loaded cover pulled back when adjusting the hop-up, which can be a little cumbersome. It's a minor distraction however, once we dialed in the hop up, it stayed put and didn't require any adjustment after 3 magazines worth of ammo. The battery is the standard Stick Battery, Ni-Mh 8.4v 1100Mah. It's inserted and removed by easily taking off the top receiver cover. It also comes with the standard 250Mah wall charger. Charge time is approximately 4-5 hours from a completely drained state. As always, we recommend investing in a smart charger if you are serious about the airsoft sport and you want to make your batteries last.
Performance wise, the gun chrono'd between 388 and 395 FPS in semi-auto, with a firing rate of 798 rounds per minute on full-auto. We used .20g TSD Tactical 6mm BBs for the Performance testing. At ranges past 100feet the accuracy gets a little sketchy with the .20g BBs. We recommend .23g or .25g for the best accuracy on this gun. We didn't do shot grouping, but at 150 feet we were able to consistently hit a 12 oz soda can on full and semi-auto firing modes. So, you'll have nothing to worry about when it comes to the longer shots using the JG0515. This airsoft gun is a solid performer in our opinion. If you are looking for a realistic Soviet style airsoft gun with great performance, you should check the Jing Gong Airsoft Tactical AK74 out. Priced under $130 it's well worth the price based on what you get.
