Job Interview Tips: Stay Calm And Confident
67
Everyone gets nervous during a job interview. Even the most confident people go through moments of self-doubts. There are ways to cover your emotions and stay confident during
job interviews.
Job interviews are looking for people who can perform well under pressure. If you cannot perform well in stressful situation, why should they hire you? We will show several ways to keep yourself confident throughout the interview process.
Walk up to your interviewer, shake hands and look in him or her in the eye. Eye contact and good body language can show your confidence in their eyes.
And don’t equivocate when you are talking. If you say that “Well, I kind of helped with a project but I didn’t run it myself,” you would be saying that " I do not think I am worthy of this position".
Alternatively, tell the interviewer, “I was chosen to be in a very important project and acted as a key part in completing it successfully.” Now, your role in the project sounds very different to the interviewer.
If you haven't had lots of job interviews in the past or it has been a while since the last job
interview, it is hard not to be nervous even if you are well-prepared. The more job interviews you go through, more confident you will be.
You should tell yourself that you got this interview because you were qualified for the job to begin with. Knowing that can increase your confidence level. Your friends and family can help you boost your confidence level, too.
How? Before the interview, ask them to tell you how great you are and all the things that make you so special. You might find it a little weird but this will certainly keep your confidence level high.
Getting ready to answer tough interview questions ahead of time can significantly increase your confidence level.
