Job Seeking ? Job Security ? Use your resume (C.V) go get it

We all know about the recent news (it's actually no so much News...) rambling about the global economy downtime.

Do you feel secure in your job?

Well, firstly there is no such thing really as job Security...the layoffs happening all those recent years show us that even the most secure job, could be at risk for many Reasons.

Are you doing something to protect your income? It should be a good time for ironing your resume!

Even if you do not need the resume soon, it will power up your self confidence. You will start to notice all the great things you achieve daily in your current job -- and this could trigger a better management view of your role and contribution in your current workplace!

As you profile your resume you will start to notice what the most important tasks are you really need to give a higher priority.

You will also see more powerfully what else you need to learn. Do ask for courses -- better be home study courses. A worker who learns more (specially at home) will be more valuable and thus will have a more secure position.

And yet again you should look at the market current needs (efficiency, quick learning curve), put it in your resume a use you job description be your daily work plan sheet.

And then in case you do have to search for a new job, you have your resume ready.

Note that you should have several profiles of the job resume - each one highlights the specific area you could be targeting.

For example, you could be a computer professional. Let's suppose that over the years you got into learning and working in those environments:

- Windows

- Linux

- Database

Well, simply go ahead and create several resume profiles, each one highlighting whether "Windows" or "Linux" or "Database". This does NOT mean focusing on Windows you drop any sign of Linux or Database. You simply provide a more detailed story for Windows Job achievements you got over the years.

You should also look at the market and target the next job you would take and then target your resume in that direction as well as your learning efforts.

Don't forget to put your resume in LinkedIN web site.

Tune up to this hub as I have more info coming a long.

Mean time, you can review a very nice piece of software that several people I know of have been using successfully (my sister included!). It does have marketing hype built into it. But once you skip it you get to really nice flow that directs you through important points to note and write in your resume.

If you get it, do let me know how you find it benefitial.

See you !

Yours,

Jack.
