Almost all jobseekers have experienced looking for jobs, that suits their academic knowledge and work experience. They have also undergone the time consuming preparation of resume/curriculum vitae, revision, update and sometimes try to match their resume with was needed by the prospective employer.
On the other hand, first time jobseekers may find it difficult to apply, however some employers need even inexperienced job hunters, which will be required for training prior to commencing work with the employer.
Jobseekers find their job through the use of newspaper classified ads, internet, job fairs, posted flyers, job magazines and others etc. And they response to these job openings through telephone, fax machine, email, cell phone or by visiting the office address personally. The mode by which they send their resume and credentials, to a particular employer depends on how the employer advertises his ads.
There are also some employers, who require those who will be applicants, to submit a copy of resume in MS Word format in floppy disk, other than the usual two copies of resume, photos and credentials.
In other countries, discrimination in job ads will always be there. Employer may require you to have pleasing personality, 20 to 35 years of age, must have graduated from leading universities, 15 years experience and so on and so forth. These really are nightmares to jobseekers.
Some jobseekers were also a victim of email scams, which are proliferating in the internet, to the point that they have paid a huge amount of money for them to get employed and which the job hunter later found to be fake.
Most jobseekers cut the whole ads of the job opening, where they intend to apply and bring it with them all the time. Others simply bring the whole newspaper so they eliminate cutting of the needed ads.
Nowadays, jobseekers tend to be always ready and on the go, whenever they want to apply for any job openings. They store the scanned copies of their credentials such as, school diploma, certificates, employment certificates, licenses, photos and passport copy in their flash drives & mobile hard disk. The advantages of using these gadgets are you can bring them comfortably & easily, you can easily access to your files and you can easily make a hard copy just in case you need it.
Expenses for jobseekers shall include, photocopy, photos, transportation fares, pay phones, attires, meal allowance and printing of hard copies of their credentials. Some jobseekers skip their meals to save money and others tend to go to areas where foods are cheap. Because most of the jobseekers have not made any savings to sustain the expenses they will incurr in looking for a new job.
