Many Jobs for Teens
Many Jobs for Teens

You may have just left school or maybe you have finished for the summer or you are looking for some way to earn money doing a Saturday job. Whatever kind of job you are looking for, you will probably want paying for it and is probably why you are here.

Although it is good to get out and about to meet new people, in this modern world there are ways you can work from home even while watching TV!

Some jobs for teenagers explained on this page show how you can be your own boss and work as little or as much as you like.

So what kind of work is available?

There are many good jobs for teenagers and here we are going to list a few helpful ideas.

Paid Surveys for Teens

This is probably one of the safest ways to make cash as it can be done from home. On a survey site like Teen Paid Surveys you simply register to as many of the market research companies as you can. These companies pay you for your opinions on things like sports, products, fashion, what you see on television and in the media. By filling in the surveys, the research data with is then passed onto their clients helping them to launch new products.

This is a great little job as it can be done when you like.

Washing Cars

This simple money making idea comes from the fact that your neighbours, friendly or not, will at some point get dust and mud on their people carrier. Your job as a vehicle washer is to ask your neighbour in a friendly manor something like “May I wash your car please. I am saving up and need some money” or maybe knock knock “Will you pay me to wash your car, I will do an excellent job”. Just be creative and ask with a smile. Genuinely smile and you stand more chance of them saying yes to your request.

All you need for this is big sponge and a bucket and the cheek to ask for a few pounds/dollars/euros, remember, you really want that money!

Paper Round

This is a good job to begin with. Simply go to your local shop or news agent and ask if they need a delivery boy/girl. All you have to do is post the papers through the correct letter boxes. Some local papers require delivery to every single address on a certain road and are good to do on foot.

If you are carrying a very heavy load of papers, it may be a good idea to put them in a trolly or a pram so your back and muscles don’t strain.

This is also a little like being your own boss because if you want more money, you can take on as many paper rounds as you can handle in a day. Most teens will only do one, but you could spend your entire Saturday delivering to multiple areas for multiple news agents.

Selling your old junk on ebay or in a shop window

You probably have a load of things in your bedroom that you just do not use any more, a reminder of childhood that you want to keep. But if you want some money, and you just do not use this thing anymore, why not try selling it? There may be someone living in your local area or someone on the internet who wants what you are throwing away. Just post it up on ebay or one of the many other internet posting sites, or even put an ad in your local shop window or local paper.

Once you have sold all junk you will have more space, more money and then why not ask friends and family if they have anything they don’t want that you can sell. Because by now, you are a selling expert.

Working at a Supermarket or a Fast food outlet

One of the very common jobs for teenagers involves serving paying customers with a friendly attitude. Don’t be afraid, go into your local shop, store, supermarket or fast food joint and ask the person behind the counter if they have any jobs available. If they have any, just ask for an application form, take it home, fill it in then take it back. When you go back, ask for the manager and they will be happy to take back your filled in form. Normally they will get back to you within a few days but sometimes you have to wait a few weeks. If after two weeks they haven’t contacted you, just give them a friendly call or visit and ask if they have considered your application for a job. This will show the manager that you are interested and enthusiastic about working for them, which can only be a good thing.

Working for a company like this will patiently teach you very valuable skills that will be useful when you want to get your dream job later in life. It may not seem like this but future employers will appreciate that you have worked before

Taking the first step

So by now this should have given you ideas for Saturday jobs for teenagers like you ranging from sitting at home, being self employed filling in paid surveys, all the way through to getting out and meeting new people out in a supermarket type workplace.

Whatever job you choose, and you may be doing more than one, you will learn valuable skills making you more skilful and more valuable than the next person.

Good luck!
