Would you go for a Lieberman-Palin ticket?

  • Yeah
  • No way!

When I first read this Hub request, I admit that I had never considered such a possibility. I've heard so much flack about both that putting them together seemed like... well, a terrible idea.

For one, I don't think that anybody would vote for Joe Lieberman, or nobody of influence, anyway. He has such a terrible light cast on him right now, with some people - Democrats mainly - considering removing him from the Democratic caucus and his chairmanship of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. His support of John McCain has put him in an unfavorable spot... he might consider himself a maverick, but many just see him as a traitor with no backbone, or a flip-flopper who cannot be forgiven for what he's done.

I personally don't think that Sarah Palin is stupid, and I don't think that she would consider to run with him. And besides, if Sarah Palin did find herself on the campaign trail again, she would probably go all out and run for president herself. In an interview with Fox News, she mentioned that if a door was open, she would "plow on through." She's definitely got determination, and I don't think she'd settle for less the next time around.

If she were to run, she would need to learn more about world issues and how the country works. She's gotten her dose of media treatment and coverage and certainly has a better idea of how brutal the news and public can be. I think she's discerning enough to take her experiences from this campaign and apply it to future endeavors. She's achieved a lot in her years, andI don't think she's done by any means.

Lieberman has a lot of ground to cover if he is even thinking of running for president... like saving his current position in government.

I have to say that this is a very interesting pairing. Palin may attract controversy, but such a ticket would certainly cause a ruckus!

Interesting thought but why does the thought of that team send chills up my back?

Besides, didn't we just finish almost three years of non-stop campaigning (two for this election and one for the `06 mid-term)?

I don't know about anyone else but I need a break .... :-)

Nice job, none the less .....

Very interesting. There have been a lot of articles lately about people who are urging Palin to run for president so I'm just trying to get opinions

I promise I will never vote for a ticket that includes someone whose wardrobe is more than 30% animal fur and who shoots animals from aircraft.

Stranger things have happened!

Another great hub!

I've so much enjoyed the last US election. It was a real roller-coaster with larger than life characters, and great plot-lines. I'm sure it will be made into a movie some day, but goodness me, Sarah Palin! Might she run for President? Seriously?

When I first read the title of your hub I assumed the speculation was for Lieberman to run to oppose Obama on the Democratic ticket with Palin as the GOP candidate. Seriously. I'm just flat-out confused as to what color Lieberman is these days. Kinda purple, and, like wine, a bit fermented. By the time 2012 rolls around I think he will be well past "drinkable" and that's because Americans do not suffer turncoats gladly. Truly, I think we've heard the last of him.

Palin will not accept the #2 spot on any ticket. If she runs (and 2012 is not that far away, as the campaigning starts in 2010) it will be as top sled dog... I think she would be wise to run for the Senate and learn what Washington is all about first tho. Then again (IMHO) she should stay in Alaska.

Great hub! Thumbs up!!

That would be the worst ticket in history--a rat and a pit bull with lipstick.
