We all know that reality shows tend to invade personal space and create a bit of "tension". It seems as if this has happened with the Gosselin family. This show has created tons of publicity between Jon and Kate making appearances on other shows as well as the Gosselin family being followed by the paparazzi and the TLC film crew on a daily basis. This is certainly abnormal for most American families to get this much attention but not the Gosselins. Is this sort of atmosphere a healthy atmosphere to raise 8 children?

I think it is stll to soon but they where saying that the kids where missing not being on the show.
I don't think the actual show has or will effect the children but the publicity, rumors, paparazzi, and all the talk about their parents divorce this last season will effect them.
I don't think the actual show has had a negative impact on these children. I think all of the media hype surrounding the family is what will negatively impact them. Because of this, I think it was a good reason to pull the plug on the show.
The children do not know any different this is all they know and the film crew were thought of as "family" and now they have left them also....ending the show may actually have more harm then the filming itself...Maybe if they would have weaned the filming off and they just do occasional filming but the way it was just cut off and torn away probably has some effect in how the children may be acting out! If anything that will harm them is to see their Mom crying at night or their Dad...
I feel that the Children have had a wonderful time doing the show.
I think they kids have had fun doing the show as well!
I don't think reality shows can come in and destroy the family. Perhaps it's made the householders aware of the disfunction in their family by watching back at the tapes, and lot of people don't get that perspective.
The lives of 8 young kids went from being a big happy family to a drama filled, confused and split up family... of course this show has affected them.
I feel that the do not know any different than to be filmed, so how can that hurt them???? Now Carra and Maddie, maybe alittle different storey!!! I belived that the show might have affected them a bit!! But I would really like to see how many families can actually afford to pay for all of those children! Jon and Kate could of had the government pay their way, but didn't. So I give them alot of credit!!!!!!!!!
iam 12 years old kate and jon i watch every epasode of your shows it was amazing watching them if you guys go of the show then i cant watch new epasode and see leah,hannah alexis, maddy ,carre, colin ,joel andan and you kate i hope you stay on the show Jon and Kate Plus 8. by katlynnmanley
I think the kids are happy and well adjusted. The parents up till the break was making sure thye was OK. I think the kids are well loved and will be just fine.
I think that it did affect the kids however who is to say it is bad or good. as of right now they seem to be doing ok. Its just really sad that we watched them grow and now they will be gone.
What's going to happen when their income is gone. I am sure they were paid plenty by TLC for the show. Of course it is going to effect the kids. I bet they will be lonely with just Kate at home, no crew, no dad, no cameras. Is Kate going to be able to keep up a $1.5 million home? Who is going to be with the children when Kate goes off on more book signings? With the kids all going to school, they needed to end the show. The kids need to concentrate on their education now.
I agree, the children (especially the sextuplets) have only known the television crew. I have seen every episode, and with the exception of the times the children are addressing the crew, have never seen them play to the camera. These are not child actors, they are children who happen to have a film crew at their house a few days a week. I think they will be just fine, and I would love to see the show go on in some capacity
Because this show and all it involved..will be with them as they grow older. It is family life kicked up a notch! Other than the divorce....this was ALL a positive thing for the Gosselins and the viewers! THIS was a WONDERFUL opportunity to be able to "afford" to raise 8 children! A selfish and self-centered JON...has taken the money and all it could have brought them....right out of the mouth of his own babes! SHAME ON JON !!!! How ridiculous he looks on TV tonight ...on the FINALE....talking about "his" new address, and his "job"....etc. SORRY IF HE DIDN"T LIKE HELPING OUT WITH HIS KIDS AT HOME....it wouldn't have been forever JON..... YEAH KATE....I'm sorry the media has put you through sooo much foolishness...from how you spoke out to your poor little boy/husband, to the opportunity you had for plastic surgery....ANYONE would have done it...you don't look THAT much different (in the face) than when you married him.....you go girl....continue to take care of you and yours.... GOD BLESS
I was so sorry to see your show end tonight. It was a joy to be with your family every Monday night. I don't think I have ever missed an episode. The kids will be truly missed. I hope eventually things can be worked out so you can come back to t.v. Kate and kids.

I found some stats that said over 49% of Marriages end in divorce... In a perfect world I would like to think that stat sounds a little high.. but that is what the CDC says and those stats were from 2007. I'm sure you all know by now that Jon and Kate are part of that stat now. Could their reality show "Jon and Kate plus 8" been what pushed them over the edge? Do you think that if the couple would not have participated in the reality show would they still be married... happily? It's hard to say so we want to know what you think. I agree... that divorce rate sounds high but it is probably around that if not higher. I think that having 8 kids would be more stress than the average human can handle... Not to mention they were on a reality show 24/7!
There is an obvious omission in the list of choices. The only No vote indicates the person doesn't believe the show had anything to do with the divorce. There should be a choice that says, "No, I do not think they would have divorced if the show had never happened." And that would be my selection... none of the other answers.
I think they would divorce if they did not even have the show I think with them both working and not spending time with there kids it would happen.
I believe that they would have gotten a divorce even if there never was a show. I could not imagine having 6 kids all in diapers at the same time plus two more very young also. Even if they both kept their jobs, I believe it would have been an extreme struggle raising 8 children. That is a huge financial burden.
I think they would have divorced anyways...or maybe seperate for awhile...Jon is very immature and not yet ready to be tied down to "family life" and the father of 8...he has said this himself...

Yes, Kate stated in her interview that things just weren't clicking anymore and it finally hit her that their relationship wasn't going to work and it wasn't because of the show.
Jon is too immature....show or no show....he could have jumped ship....
Question # 3
There has been a lot of controversy over who is in the right and who is in the wrong... There are a lot of arguments going both ways. Which brings us to our next question. Whose Fan Club would you join... Jon's or Kate's?? Which one do like more? Or do you just totally despise of them both. We are eager to know your thoughts!

Those sure are some cute kids... It's a shame that their folks couldn't work through this... and sad that Jon is already out prancing around with his new lover!!
I am definably a Kate fan. She has been a wonderful mom to those kids, even when her life was falling apart! She is such a strong woman and has accomplished so much in her life already while having eight kids! She is classy and kept her composer in awful situations. I look up to her, I think if I was in her situation I would probably be in a mental institution by now. lol.
I don't really know if I'd say I'm a Kate "fan" but I can say that I can relate to her. I am raising 4 kids and it's tough. I can't imagine 8!! She is a very determined, organized person with a very strong personality. I agree that she talked down to Jon and humiliated him on numerous occasions but he's the one who sat by and took it for so long. If he had such a problem with her, he should have spoken up a long time ago.
I feel Kate is a good mother with her childrens best interest as her priority...the kids come first and if that means she has to be away doing a speaking engagement or a book signing she will make it happen...she really doesn't care about what the public thinks of her, its what her children think that's important!

Please don't ask me why but I would say I'm more of a Jon fan.
I am most definitely a fan of Kate! You go girl! It takes a lot of dedication to continue doing everything she does, raise 8 kids, doing shows, and go about her daily life.
I think that if there was no show they would have not gotten divorced
I am definitely a Kate fan, she has handled herself with class and grace throughout these trying times. She is a wonderful mother, and role model for her children, something I cannot say about their father.
I am a HUGH Kate FAN.....she is a classy lady, who has spunk, common sense, a big heart....and was given a raw deal by the man she loved. She can still love him AS HER KIDS FATHER.....but, she needs to move on with her life as she is able....it will be hard, because she is a good mother and wants to be very careful of her children and people they are around. GO KATE

I am sure that most of you all know by now that Jon has a new girlfriend. Jon's new lady is said to be the daughter of the surgeon that performed Kate's tummy tuck back in 2006. WOW! Well anyway Jon is pretty much out in the open about his new lady and doesn't seem to be ashamed to talk about her or bring her out in public... So he really isn't trying to hide anything here...which brings me to my next question.

Yes, if they are still together in the future and are serious of course she should be apart of the kids lives. But right now, it is way too early to have other women around those kids.
no she should not. She's a horrible influence. I would'nt want a peice of trash like her around my kids. She drinks, and smokes and is a huge party animal. She's a horrible influence.
I wouldn't leave my dogs in her care let alone Jon's...not with the new or old habits that he displays nor her's
I feel Jon should have a right to bring his new girlfriend around when the time is right. The kids should meet who his could or will be marrying. You know it would be their step mother.
The kids are still getting used to their parents being separated. I don't think they need any extra changes going on right now, including a new woman being brough into their life.
I think Jon want's a version of Kate what she used to look like. That's what one of the show interview's was he was talking about her hair how it was long and then got shorter and how she changed and yes any people they have in thier live's in the future will have interaction with the kid's cause it what thier parent's will choose as thier partner's in the future
One day....when he is MAYBE serious about another woman...maybe then. They kids do not need to be subjected to his multiple female party girls.....what kind of idea would that give his kids. THESE ARE NOT WHITE TRASH! KATE is trying to be sure the kids do not get the impression....the more lovers the merrier! JON...he hasn't even given that a thought! GROW UP JON !!!

With all of the drama and change we have seen take place right before our very eyes in all seasons of Jon and Kate plus 8. Do you think that it was worth it for them and their family? Considering all of the publicity, promotions, and money that was involved was this really healthy for their family considering they have 8 kids... Will the 8 Kids be able to live a normal life? With all of these questions you really have to ask yourself one thing as a parent. Which brings me to our final question.

I would hate to be on reality show and let millions of people judge every move I make. Having people follow me around with cameras and get all up in my business ALL THE TIME would really get on my nerves. I would never put myself in the situation nor any of my family.
I think of what I would have been able to give more to my kids like 100 percent of their college paid for..

It's hard to say no to this question because I really wouldn't want my life taped.... AT ALL! However, you can't pass up that kind of money.. I mean think about all the things that you would be able to provide for the kids.. most importantly their education. Putting 8 kids through college? The though of that just almost gave me a heart attack.

The reality show has afforded the Gosselin family opportunities they probably never would have been able to afford with a family of their size. I also think it was an excellent opportunity for the public to witness the challenges of raising multiples. And just think, what other family has so much video of their kids!

With this situation....the timing of the multiples....this was a "gift horse"....there are problems with all things...you just have to work around them, pray for guidance and adjust! It was just too good to be true I suppose.....Jon just got selfish and a little jealous of Kate I think.....

I'm sure the show will eventually effect these children but I believe it's to soon to tell.
