What makes it widely loved is the passion the players bring into the game. They put hard work into it and when playoff season starts, they really bring their “game” on.
Basketball players are idolized by thousands of fans because of their ability to, not only bring drama to the court, but because of their amazing playing skills. A huge part of this is attributed to their capacity to run fast and jump higher than the average man. If they didn’t jump that high, they wouldn’t be able to dunk that basketball. There are a lot of ways to be able to dunk that ball. If you want to do this then you have to increase your jumping height. Though it may seem impossible for the average man to acquire skills of those who are playing internationally, through practice and the right workout they just might reach that level.
For starters, if you want to really jump higher in basketball or in any other game, you should start by losing some weight. The lighter you are, the higher you can jump. Aside from this, you should probably do more leg exercises. Try to do toe raises, calf raises and dorsi-flexor exercises. Aside from strengthening the leg, you should also do upper body exercises concerning the abdomen and back. By doing all of these, you establish a strong base.
Try also to become more flexible. If you are flexible, you can take full advantage of the momentum of your jump. If you are able to acquire this flexibility, then you have an advantage over other jumpers.
Some people gather energy before jumping by taking one to two steps. Doing these preliminary steps could boost your jumping.
When you are about to leap, maximize your legs by using it to push your body upward. Some people swing their arms towards the direction of the ceiling to increase momentum. Upon landing, bend your knees a bit so that it could absorb the shock caused by landing.
Being able to jump higher to increase your playing abilities is possible. You just have to not only put your body to work, but your mind as well. You have to be really disciplined when doing jumping exercises and goal oriented. By being determined, you will be able to withstand strenuous workouts for the love of the game.
