Jumping In or Carefully Planning?

We hear so much talk, or should I say hype about this internet business or that one. Claims about making fast, easy money.

The trouble is that without some careful planning you could be wasting your time, money, and efforts fruitlessly.

Get rich schemes are just that, schemes. Tried and true methods and hard work, is what does work! You need to do some leg work first.

I don't mean spending years trying to figure it all out. You'll be missing the boat by then. Especially in internet marketing, waiting too long has extreme disadvantages.

However whatever niche you plan to enter you must have a plan.

During my college days, (don't ask me how long ago that was) I had to write a business plan. This was a comprehensive plan on starting a business and all of the faucets in start up and continuance of the business. At that time, my plan was on a store front business.

The plan included the mission statement, layout of the company, employees, funding, advertising, analysis, target, demographics, evolutions, balance sheets, cash flows, and a five year plan.

When it came time to start my own internet business, which is a company with other members, we worked with the same models. Having over 30 years in marketing and sales behind our belts and knowing what we wanted to offer our clients/customers as well as how our company would be set up was a great asset.

We didn't rush in. You must look at all of the other factors. Who are the other businesses that are out there and what do they have to offer? Look at their sites and determine how their sites are set up and what their customer's thoughts are about them.

This is just the start because knowing what ones plan is and how to go about it is how to succeed. You can't just say "I am going to do this" and then start buying products. Then you are picking places to advertise and

spending money signing up for this and that. Don't forget that you are also paying for this service and that one!

Investigate the services and read the reviews. Read comments on message boards. Read the find print and check on their billing. Make sure it is a reputable company too. An all important piece of advice, don't use a debit card!! Use a regular credit card in case you have to dispute a charge.

Write a business plan. Know what you want and how to get it! Therefore you can be successful! You need to do the steps of a business plan!

Don't jump in! Carefully plan.
