No cause for alarm, earth isn't projected to hit jupiter any time soon. I'm just talking about the asteroid that hit jupiter while the astronomers sat clueless.
Thats right, an asteroid left an earth-sized entrance hole in Jupiter on July 19th, 2009.

Why haven't I heard of this?
Well, the big guys up there didn't either. Not until amateur Astronomer Anthony Wesley told them about it.
He discovered the impact zone while stargazing through a 14.5 inch reflecting telescope in his own home.
This is the first asteroid we've seen hitting Jupiter since 1994
