The One Lesson I would like to pass on ...

Two little words, JUST BE, has been my motto for the last couple of years. I learnt this lesson the hard way. It is one lesson I would like to pass on to others.

Accepting Life as it IS is an art in itself. Not to resist life, but to flow with it takes a lot of courage. It is simple when we change our perspective about how our life should be.

What You Resist Persists

Have you ever noticed that the very thing you want to avoid keeps popping up all the time in your life? Why does this happen? Well, repulsion is the other side of attraction. Both are governed by the same natural law. So the more you think about something you attract it to yourself. So the important thing is to learn to let go of things so we can move on in life. Thinking about the past will only repeat the pattern in the future. Just Be ... accept life as it comes ... every turn in life will hold a surprise for you.

Let not my will, O God, but thy will be done

Every religion advices us to accept God's Will. How can we apply it in today's world when religion and God have lost their meaning? Are we ignoring the advice just because we do not accept the source it comes from. The first time I read this sentence it gave me a shock. Before that I had only read 'Thy Will be Done'. That is only part of the message. To say 'Let NOT my WIll be Done' hit the nail on the head for me.

All my life, I had an idea how my life should be. My mother had her own idea about how my life should be. I tried to fit Life into my idea on how my Life should shape up in the future. It took a year of practicing 'Let not my will, O God, but thy will be done' to help me live a life with the motto: JUST BE

Accept Life and it will Change

Annie Besant, in her little book The Theosophic Life, writes that we are all given circumstances in which we grow. The next step will open up the moment you accept life's present circumstances. The more we resist the longer we will take to learn life's lessons. The moment we accept our circumstances, we become calm and can figure out how to deal with the situations and so will learn our lessons. This advice has worked for me over and over again in the last couple of years.

Theosophy

The study of Theosophy for the last ten years too has helped me get another perspective of life. There is more to life than perpetually solving self-created problems. How can we find time to ask the really important questions when we are busy worrying about the small things surrounding us? But it is not always right to ignore small things and leave them unresolved ... Just Be ... and deal with every issue as it faces you, resolve it before it gets too big ... and move on.

JUST BE

These two magic words is one lesson I would like to pass on to people who are facing life's challenges. Wish all you readers all the best in your life and to Kellys Writings for requesting Hubs for this important question.

Dear Kelly, Sheena and Laila,

Thank you for the response, it is wonderful to know there are kindred spirits out there who share the same experience. I am again thankful to Kelly for asking the question, so I could share my thoughts on it. Infact, after having written the Hub and putting my lesson in tangible form has helped me further.

with warm regards,

Sushma
