Just Run-Vampires Are Not Just In The Movies

Vampires in the movies of old were based on those who were buried without being embalmed (unknown procedure or too pricey at the time) and the corpses would sit up straight in the dirt from the shallow grave that was dug, due to rigor mortis.

How do you deal with an Emotional Vampire? Run! Do not stick around, do not make yourself available ... they will drain you dry. They are emotionally insecure and are still looking for a "daddy" or a "mommy" to take care of them, or, they cannot feel good about themselves unless they trash others. How do you do know who is an Emotional Vampire or not? Easy! Almost everyone can keep up a good act for at least ninety days. After that first ninety days, their true colors begin to show, and , they start whining.

(Did I mention the elitest female who thinks she's a little bit better than you are? Stop her in her tracks! Say to her, "That's a lovely dress/outfit you are wearing today. It becomes you so well. Did you buy it new?) She'll leave you alone.

Emotional Vampires do not even want to consider being responsible for their own lives and dealing with reality, it's always someone else's fault who has caused their unwanted and unlikeable circumstances. Just run!

You will never change them. They must change themselves. Sometimes they are picky eaters, other times they are self-proclaimed pseudo-elitists ... really, that's the truth. Cut yourself loose fast, Run! If you don't, they will drag you down.

They will always have an excuse for their plight, never a reason: "I just got fired from my job, lost my apartment, etc., and, no one loves me, but you do, and you understand, right? So, I can stay here at your place for awhile and you will take care of me, ok?" Most likely they were caught drinking and/or using drugs on their last job. Say no, and cut them lose! They'll move on to the next one, after you, on their list.

Just run!

Very good descriptions. These vampires are truly dangerous and commit "murder" of another's mind, spirit and self. I agree... Run!

Thanks for all the comments, each and every one of you.  Just remember, no one can make you feel a certain way unless you allow them that power.  Stay sharp, and do not back down.

LOL  Can you tell I was raised by a controlling Ulster (Northern Irish) father?

Thanks again to each of you who commented, it's great for my ego I pretend I do not have.  And, I wish each of you unlimited success in each and every one of your endeavors, and may the world always treat you in a most beautiful fashion.

Girl, I FEEL YOU!!! Drama queens and marytrs work my last d@mn nerves!!! I've got a friend who calls me every week and goes on and on and on and on about her leeching family members; how they never care about her or callunless they want money or rides. I keep telling her 'stop answering the phone,' but does she listen?!? Nooooooooo!!! So I apply it to myself when she calls. Sad, sad, sad. Anyway, well-written response!!!
