Katinka Hesselink on Hubpages
61
I've been on hubpages for some months now and have made hubs about several topics. One thing I like about the website is the questions. I've answered several, but only two by making a hub. One hub I made in response to a question was about about something I'd never even wear: pink and black outfits... The other fits into my general niche: religion and spirituality. I have made several hubs in that category. The hub about karma and reincarnation was made in response to a question.
Another theme are the red cheeks that have bugged me all my life. You can guess how delighted I was to find a cure... I made two hubs about that.
The rest of my hubs are a mixed set: My grandmother has alzheimer's and the memory book we made really helps remind her of the basic facts of her life. I've always used planners, so I made a hub about how to use them in college.
Dealing with redness on the face
As I said - I've dealt with redness in my face my whole life. One of the reasons I rarely wear make-up is that it would have to be a whole LOT of make-up to first cover up the red cheeks and chin, and THEN paint over with blush and stuff. Given my sensitive skin, I never took that route. I still don't.
But now that the redness on my cheeks is less, I've found that simply using mascara makes a lot of difference. My face is more of a blank slate as it were, now that my skin has improved in tone and texture. No need to cover up any more - and therefor less fuss.
- Best Makeup For Red Cheeks
Curing redness on the face would be ideal, but on a job interview or hot date you just can't wait the week or two it takes at minimum to cure rosacea: enter concealing make up for sensitive skin that ALSO treats the redness long term. - How to get rid of a red face
A friend recently advised me to start using blush! I could not believe it - my cheeks were always so red that using blush was only an option AFTER using a concealer of some kind.
My other hubs
- Family Planners Calendars for Moms and Dads
Moms and Dads who need help planning their life have come to the right place. I've found you cute and practical agenda books and organizers. Some with childlike pictures. Others looking more professional. - Pink and Black Outfits
Pink is the color this summer - if you want to be really cool, you will combine the pink with black. That is: if you can handle the color combination. Black with pink is a color combination that will go very well with dark skin, or blonds. - How to organize your academic life with a planner
Papers cannot be written well the day before the deadline that is, for most people that will result in a paper that gets at least one grade point lower grade than if they'd started well ahead of time. Get organized to prevent this problem. - Make your own memory book for family with dementia
It's been proven that people with severe memory loss, dementia or Alzheimer's will function better if they are reminded of their lives and those of their loved ones. A memory book can help your parent or spouse remember the main facts in their life.
Religion and spirituality hubs
These are just some of the topics I'm into when it comes to religion and spirituality. Check out my spiritual blog, newsletter and website below.

The Theosophical Society was founded in 1875 at a time when the West was just becoming seriously aware of the existence of religions and people elsewhere. - Reincarnation and Karma facts - about good and evil
Karma and reincarnation are related beliefs that have been popular in India and surrounding countries for a very long time. Karma means action. - Spiritual Sayings and Wisdom Quotes
I'm really into religion and spirituality - though I don't believe in dogmas. I do believe in finding inspiration anywhere and learning from all spiritual traditions. In this hub you will find a selection of quotes that inspire and uplift.

I've been online for years now. I think I started my first website in 1999. I had been online for about a year back then.
Since then a lot has changed and in order to do online promotion I've expanded my web presence not just to hubpages, but also to squidoo. I'm a giant squid top 100 member there and a squidangel.

I've stayed away from hot and spicy food all my life, and it did not prevent the redness on my cheeks from growing. The products I advise on the two hubs I made about this DID help.

My sister had that same redness and was diagnosed with rosacea several years ago. She basically has to stay away from anything hot or spicy. They also gave her a cream for it. It seemed to help.
