Kavya Madhavan was born in Nileshwaram and entered the Malayalam film industry as a child artist in the film "Pookkalam Varavayi" in the year 1991 and did a role of a school girl. Kavya shot to the status of a heroine with Lal Jose's Chandranudikkunna Dikkil in 1999 at the age of 14. Kavya came into the limelight for her acclaimed role in director Kamal's Malayalam movie "Azhakiya Ravanan" in 1996. Following that hit movie, Kavya Madhavan acted with all Malayalam superstars like Mammootty, Mohanlal and Dileep. Most of her movies with actor Dileep were huge hits in the box office.
Kavya Madhavan has a beautiful face perfect for various emotions and Kavya Madhvan's beautiful face expressions has won her many state awards. Some of the hit movies are "Meesha Madhavan", "Madhamabhi", "Classmates" and "Ananthabhadram". Kavya Madhavan won the Kerala's "State best actress" award in 2004 for her role in "Perumazhakalam".
