A crime is an act which is punishable by a penalty when committed, depending on the statute or code followed. In some jurisdictions, a crime can have three different stages, and unless any of this is listed under a law and given a specific punishment, there is no crime. You may think up in your mind of doing something illegal in your state, for example. But conjuring up thoughts alone is not a crime. Furthermore, no law-making body would enact a law that would punish a man for his thoughts.

In the same branch of thought, having in one’s possession pictures of shirtless male celebrities is not a punishable act nor is it an offense of any kind. Many hobbyists and collectors have stranger collections of items, souvenirs and trinkets, some of which offend even the most liberal-minded neighbor. But every person has the right to engage in any lawful activity. Unless prohibited by law, any kind of activity then would be by presumption lawful. It is worth mentioning that a collection of photographs of famous people is neither odd nor peculiar. In fact, it is a perfectly normal hobby, something which kids and the elderly can easily maintain.

To entertain the notion that keeping pictures of shirtless male celebrities offends the idea of privacy and respect to others. Attaching a tag of villainy to collections such as these would also mean the condemning of photo albums hosting images of friends at a beach or at a swimming party. It is quite true that what is popular may not always be correct, and it doesn’t mean that everything popular is suspect for being wicked. Objects such as pictures have no innate traits of morality, no alignment with either good or evil. People are the only ones who attach color to things and inanimate objects.

The freedom to collect anything including photos of shirtless male celebrities does not in any way violate any kind of law, and is therefore not a crime. Anybody is free to get these as he pleases, and nobody can judge him as to his intentions or purposes. People traditionally put up posters of people they admire or who they want to be. And when it comes to a celebrity, who knows how many admirers out there want to be exactly like their cherished idols, from speaking habits, dating patterns and most especially, their physical likeness. And for fans wanting to be just like their beloved idols, no gift is better than an autographed photo album.
