Keeping in Touch With Your Readers
47Owning a blog does not only mean publishing articles on daily basis and waiting for the traffic the blog generates to convert into money. For a professional blogger keeping in touch with it`s readers is more important than anything. You want people to know you better , your interests , your way of life. As long as words aren`t enough below I have listed the main ways to make your readers know more about you and keep in touch with them the right way.
1 - Be Personal with your Readers
Writing a few words in the "About Me" page isn`t enough. At least one photo on your profile will be better than nothing. Even in the real life when building up a relationship , people tend to find out as many things about their friends as possible. The same happens online. Especially when being a constant reader of any blog , a nice relationship builds up even between the community . The blogs I like most are the ones where their owners tell more about themselves and they are the ones I always come back to. Posting photos with you or your family members will always be considered. Anyways people may like you or not. But try to get in touch with them , by streaming movies with yourself , showing them your way of living , apart from online.
2 - Pod-casts
Anyone connecting a face to a name can always tell more about someone. Your about page should have at least a photo of yourself and some information that will make your reader understand who you are and what your interest are. Being trustworthy matters the most when blogging or doing online business. No one , but no one wants to be seen as someone hiding behind a computer screen. It also makes you more trustworthy. Try to be more personal and upload at least once a week a video , talk about anything , it can be business stuff or just personal hobbies or family.
3 - Contact
A successful blogger will always be contacted by all people wandering about things they post , wanting to ask questions and so on. This can be done in many ways. Giving your readers more chances to contact you , will definitely increase your community and readers. Use services like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube , Digg , StumbleUpon , Plurk and other social media sites. Twitter is my favorite tool for building new relationships. Social media sites in general can be time wasting, and talking of my experience, but they are worth every one minute spent.
4 - Moderate Your Comments
Always encourage blog comments. Comments are the best way of communication between you and your readers. The main tool for communication within blogs or sites. There are some ways to have more people comment on your blog, but the main one is to provide unique great content.
