The choice of coffee makers using pods has increased, but which is the best one for your money?

I will restrict myself to the two best selling ones, which are the Keurig and the Tassimo.

To start with, I must say that either of these coffee makers is well made and very well rated by the consumers and no one seems to regret their decision.

On the contrary, the forums are full of praise. So which one should you buy, well it really comes down to a few facts.

Keurig produces more than six models that compete with one and other. If you don't want to spend a lot of money, the basic model will do just fine for $60 to $70 and will produce the same quality cup of joe at the same speed as the more expensive models.

So why spend more money? Well it all depends on the purpose that you buy a coffee maker for.
The more upmarket models either have bigger water containers, these would be suitable for office use or coffee addicts, like me ;) . These models are a bit more rubust and can be used more intensively.

Keurig call their pods K-Cups. In the meantime there a number of brands offering K-Cups for the Keurig coffee maker.
You can even buy empty K-Cups that can be filled with your own choice of coffee or tea: Green Mountain,

While there is quite a choice in models, overall this is the more expensive option.

The difference between the two brands:

* Tassimo is a much faster cup of joe ready in less than a minute.
* The Tassimo pods are also available with various Starbucks coffee flavors, this is a great advantage if you are a fan of Starbucks.

The bottom line is that both Keurig and Tassimo are good coffee machines and both offer a good range of coffee pods.
