Keyword Spy or Google Keyword Tool
67Keyword Spy or Google Adwords Keywords Tool
Which data mining software or keyword research tool is better? Some of the most popular softwares that mine data are wordtracker, Google adwords, and keywordSpy.
I have been writing online on blogs supplied by google for several years now and more recently I joined hubpages. I have never taken any writing courses and maybe those who read my spin would suggest that I go take some creative writing courses or to quit altogether. Regardless I just keep researching stories online and writing them up.
Like others I find myself wondering why I keep at it since I only get a few hundred hits per day on my webpages. But then I went and did some research on how my blog compared to others and found that my overall web presence is above average. That was encouraging.
I never really gave much thought to making money from writing online although I did run some ads on my blog. With hubpages the ads were set up automatically. However when I joined hub I started seeing how many people are tweaking their pages in order to try to maximize their adsense potential.
At first I overlooked that possibility of tweaking my copy with better keywords. I knew the importance of using keywords properly in order to have your page rank as high as possible with search engines but using better keywords has more than one meaning.
Finding better paying search engine keywords is very easy once you know how to use Google Adwords Tool and one might be tempted to overlook all other competitors since Google is free.
That is how I felt for the longest time. However I have recently found KeywordSpy which is another data mining company that goes mining for data on the internet to return statistics for clients. KeywordSpy is not free. However they do offer a limited version of their product that can be used without registering.
It is very limited but it does allow me to search choice words for my hubs and blog pages. Both Google and KeywordSpy return an estimate of how much online merchants are willing to pay for receiving traffic to their site.
With Google you get a much longer list but the process of getting to the Google Adword Tool is tedious. For that reason alone I prefer to use the free version of KeywordSpy.
I simply have it in my favorites and I open it when I'm doing some online writing. A few better words doesn't change the meaning of a story. It might however change the potential earning power of the story.
Now....I have no actual proof that writing online can make you rich but I have made enough to buy a daily cup of coffee and a donut from this hobby.
Better words might get me better donuts.
Meanwhile I might still consider joining that online creative writing course.
KeywordSpy or Google keyword tool: it's a personal choice really.
