Kid Party Idea
78No Set-up and No Clean-up
Parties are for fun and parties for children are no different. All parties require planning and work, but some are easier than others. Here I am going to focus on birthday or other celebratory parties for young children (pre-school to about 4th or 5th grade) and their friends.
The types of parties I will describe for this age group are for the children and their friends or cousins. As such there is a lot of running around, shouting and general chaotic fun for the kids but a lot of work for the parents. These are not really social events but, rather, a chance for your children to get together with other children their age to have fun.
Because keeping fast paced activity going while, at the same time, managing a flock of extra active children, can be difficult and tiring this type party is ideal for turning over to professionals. I am not talking about professional caterers or event planners costing thousands of dollars. No, the services I am talking about are no further away than your local fast food restaurant. Being family oriented, play areas for children are standard equipment at many of these places. They are also open all day but, since traditional meal times are early morning, around noon and early evening, there are dead spots during they day when they are open and staffed but serve few customers. To use this dead time, many of these places have turned to hosting children’s parties. Usually for less than $100 you can reserve a section, including the play area, feed up to about ten children (or more, but the price goes up), have balloons, party favors, help with supervision and activities and, best of all, not have to set up or clean up.
Children, of course love these places so it is always a memorable event for them. When my children were this age I started having their birthday parties at one of their favorite pizza places which had a large play area for children. One of the benefits of this was that, for a few dollars more, I was able to order a couple more large pizzas and invite some of the parents to stay. While we sat and visited, the children had a great time.
