Kidney Cancer and Jose
55In the Beginning
Jose retired from the UPSP in Arvada, CO after 25 years of service and we moved from Denver, CO to a small acreage in the Missouri Ozarks to retire and live out our retirement years together.
I brought my horse and we bought her a miniature donkey to keep her company. We put fences up and built a pole barn and were expecting to live a good long time in our little piece of heaven.
Jose bought himself his first riding lawnmower and other items that we had not needed in the city but definately needed to maintain our little acreage.
I had two cocker spaniels which he didn't think were "real dogs" so we found him his dream "real dog! A half Great Dane half Black Lab that he named Zz after ZZ Top and Hwy Zz where our acreage sits on a hill overlooking a view that took our breath away!
We made some wonderful friends and joined a saddle club where I rode my horse in fun shows once a month.
Then one Sunday on the way home from a fun show Jose told me that when he had urinated early at the show grounds there was blood in his urine!
This was the beginning of Jose's and my 3 year plus journey with Kidney Cancer!
