Summertime and ants are always together. Ants are small little insects that are annoying and will attend all your picnics and will set up house within our home if you let them. There are many sprays and bug killing sprays that you can buy which may be harmful to yourself and family, even your pets can be harmed by the toxic chemicals in the sprays. There are some natural ways that you can treat, get rid of, and destroy ants.

Here are some common household items that you can use that will safely kill the ants while keeping your family safer than using toxic chemicals.

Baby Powder sprinkled is a great way to keep ants away. The baby powder will kill the ants when they come in contact with it. This item doesn’t have to be named brand for it to work. This is safe for babies and pets.

Hot Peppers and Vodka combo – This combination along with hot water will kill the big mounds that the ants live it. Pour it over the mound to get rid of them.

Used Coffee grounds will also get rid of them. After your have your coffee instead of disposing the used grounds in the trash sprinkles it on the ground where you see their mound.

Lemon Juice and water spray will eliminate these ants that you have just spray it where they live or travel to keep them away from your home. This is safe your family and pets.

Vinegar and Water Solution sprayed in their paths – You will want to use this as you would the lemon juice and water.

Windex will kill ants on contact. This can be harmful to your family so read the instructions on the bottle before spraying it around where your pets and children play to keep them safe.

Feed them Quick Grits and this will kill them. Just sprinkle it around outside where they have their trails and it will do them in.

Ants no longer have to be a nuisance to your family, invade your home or ruin your picnics with your families. Try these ways to control the ant population where you are. These tips are safe for your family and are cheaper than getting an exterminator to come out and spray toxic chemicals around where your family lives.
