Kim Kardashian has become a major media celebrity over the last few years. As well as being well known as on the LA rich girls' party circuit (she is close friends with Paris Hilton) she has starred in her family's reality show, 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians', which started in 2007 and she is also a part-owner of Dash, a Calabasas, California, clothing store, which she operates with her sisters Kourtney and Khloe. So she has brains as well as looks and she does seem to be going places fast.

Kim was born Kimberly Kathleen Kardashian on October 21, 1980, in Los Angeles. Her father was Robert Kardashian, a lawyer who was to become famous for being O.J. Simpson’s successful defence counsel in his trial for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.

Her parents divorced in 1989 and her mother, the former Kris Houghton married in 1991 Bruce Jenner, a 1976 Olympic gold medallist. When Robert Karshadian died of cancer aged just 59, Bruce Jenner became Kim's stepfather.

Kim is the second of 4 children and they all grew up in a very privileged world but Kim's entrepreneurial instincts were not dulled by the easy life, far from it.

She has become famous, and very lucratively famous by cultivating the right friends, boyfriends and lifestyle. In LA's frenetic party scene she made firm friends with arch-socialite Paris Hilton which raised her public profile no end.

She has had a host of high profile men friends including  pop star Nick Lachey, rapper The Game, actor Nick Cannon,and Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers. In addition she was married from 2000 until 2004 to R&B producer Damon Thomas. Add to this a sordid sex tape of her and ex-boyfriend Ray J, an R&B artist which she obtained a lot of money for and you have a high flying, very successful self-publicist.
